It has been a week since the first day of school. You had been settling in comfortably, strangely enough. Apparently the cold, harsh exterior was broken when you rambled to Jay on the first day after you helped beat up another transfer kid.
After that happened, that student stopped showing up. No one contacted you to inform you of suspension, explusion, or anything of that matter, surprisingly. Despite the fact you were trying to stop Logan from hurting Mira, you still felt guilty for being up your heavy schoolmate.
You had woken up this morning, hoping for a message from your brother. Though, you'd forgotten why while you were getting ready for the school day.
In the end, you didn't recall why you were looking forward for a text.
Leaving your apartment with a warm bagel, you trudged to school with a sour expression while munching the pastry angrily.
"[f/n]! Pleasure to see you this—oh, yikes."
"What?" You accidentally said in English, turning towards your friend with a dark expression on your face.
"Whoa there, are you alright?" Zoe took the bagel out of your hand and took a bite out of it, nodding before stuffing it back in your mouth.
"I thayed uh laf nigh," you mumbled while shoving the rest of your breakfast down your mouth.
". . . What?"
"I stayed up last night," you said after finally swallowing the food. "I was playing F0rtn!t3."
"Again? Geez, you have to take care of yourself, [f/n]." Zoe lightly scolded, messing up your hair.
You huffed, quickening your pace.
"Hey! Get back here!"

Waiting in the classroom were multiple students who arrived early to hang out with their friends, as well as some fidgety people glancing at the door of the classroom nervously.
"Y'know, Vasco. You can just drop off the present on [f/n]'s desk." Jace rolled his eyes, observing the tense male standing at the entrance of the fashion department's classroom. Vasco always seemed to give birthday presents to the other Burn Knuckles, including Jace. So, when he overheard Daniel mention [f/n]'s birthday, his gut instinct was to get a present for the aggressive girl.
And he wasn't the only one who thought of giving her a present.
Jay held a small, elegant box in his hands, observing the little details on the box to distract his mind off of his current uneasy mood.
On [f/n]'s desk stood a rather large box, with the girl's name on it in neat handwriting.
Daniel tapped his foot impatiently on the floor, glancing at his backpack every once in a while.
