Missed Me?

Why should I start moving on when he wasn't even mine to begin with?

I've been mentally torturing myself for the past five minutes. My mind is loaded with questions I don't seem to understand. Why am I staying away from Jordan? Why the heck are these feelings getting stronger when in the first place I'm trying to let them subside? Why didn't I just tell him that I like him?

I groaned in frustration as I burried my head onto my hands. Oh life, why do you have to be so complicated? My head was rerouted swiftly to the cafeteria doors where people were slowly walking in. No, it's not the people who stole my attention but the ear-splitting laughter which came from nobody but my bestfriend's mouth. Beside her ofcourse was Jordan. Who else right?

In a snap of a finger, I straightened up and brushed a few strands of hair away from my face as their gleaming eyes met mine.

"Hi Andrea!" I cheerily greeted my bestfriend as I administered Jordan an impassive nod.

"Hey Amybaby!" Andrea sang. "What's up Amy?" Jordan followed.

"Why are you guys here?" Despite of attempts to sound 'enthustiastic' my voice came out a little bit hoarse.

Both looked at each other with pure confusion filling their eyes. "Um... eating lunch?" Andrea answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Well, it obviously is.

"OH. I... HA-HA-HA." I wanted to slap myself right there and then!

"Okay? Drea, let me get us something to eat." Out came his deep sexy voice. I witness "drea" chortle and batt her dazzling eyelashes.

"What about you Amy?" He turns to my direction.

"I'm good Jordan." He nods and proceeds to the short queue.

"Drea huh." I teased my bestfriend as I gave out a laugh which seemed to be dripping with sarcasm.

I seriously didn't mean it to sound that way..

"Ummm...  I mean, your pen names are cute!" I beamed.

Andrea's mouth twitched and she sank on the seat beside me. Her hands made contact with mine as her 'No chip' nails brush along my plain ones.

"Amy, Thank you so much!" She squeezed.

"For what?"

"For everything! If it weren't for you, I would've never met Jordan.. I.. I never felt this happy for four years." There it goes.

I tried my best to make my mouth form even the slightest smile but my attempts failed.

"You don't have to say a word Amy, I'm just.. I'm just thankful that you've been a great BEST FRIEND."

"I'm happy for you Andrea," I honestly was, seeing her this happy is more than enough. It's just not fair that we fell for the same guy.

*~*

"Bye! See you on Monday buddies!!"

"Aren't we going to hang out during the weekend?"

"Bye Amy!!"

Exchange of greetings filled the entire room as soon as the last bell rang. I waved goodbye to everybody who made the effort to notice me.

Now, where was I? Oh yes. I glanced out of the window which overlooked the school's soccer field.

I imagined myself strolling there hand in hand with the man of my dreams.. We'll be sitting and giggling at each other's jokes as we watch the sun roll down the horizon..

Oh, when in the world will that happen?

I was snapped back to reality as my eyes landed on two lovebirds laughing their butts off. The guy was holding the girl's books in his hand and she was playfully hitting his arm. I am not a bitter person, no. But the scene I am witnessing tears my heart apart. Guess who? Jordan and Andrea. My mouth gave out a frustrated laugh. Stupid Amy! You're not jelous! You're not for him!

"Amy." I snapped my head, almost breaking my neck to see who called.

The person standing infront of me was the least one that I'd expect to bump into. "Matt."

A small smile was etched on his face "How're you?"

"I'm.. Fine?" it sounded more like a question to me. "Matt, I haven't seen you for weeks."

"Yeah.. Didn't I mention it to you? I went to attend conventions."

"For three weeks?"

"Umm.. two. the third week was spent by visiting colleges I applied to."

'Oh' was the only word that came off my mouth, I didn't know he was that serious about college.

Matt clears his throat before he speaks "Is anyone gonna walk you home?"

I shook my head and gave a small weary smile.

"Umm.. Can we? Can I walk you home?" Talking to Matt might lighten my mood.

"Yes." His blue orbs bore straight into my brown eyes filled with so much emotions.. so much admiration?

No. You're over-thinking again Amy.

"I missed you." He chuckled before his back faced me.
