Winning and Losing

Jackson had to be an idiot to keep an interest in me but nothing I did seemed to shake him off. I had been ignoring him on and off for the past week since our weird encounter with Mark at the diner but only seemed to ignite his desire for me even more. However, I had to think about Mark's words that day, even though I had been nonchalant about it. Was there a possibility that Wang wasn't human and was hiding it? Since I had touched him numerous times I knew he wasn't of my kind so what could he be. Most of the creatures of the time of my ancestors were extinct since they had hunted them mercilessly. I did meet a fairy about 35 years ago, but I don't believe I've come in contact with anything from my old world since then. But how would I know for sure, we were always so careful to keep our true selves hidden, careful to look and act like them. If any of the other creatures had seen me from a distance would they have been able to tell me apart from them? I really hope not.

These thoughts troubled me, and I shifted gears from ignoring Wang to deciding to give him my undivided attention. After all, it's best to keep your enemies closer, right? And that's why I was currently back at his house this night for dinner. He had wanted to cook for me, wanted to show off those Chinese food cooking skills that he bragged about.

Remembering he liked a more natural look, I dressed my current form in a pair of black jeans, a simple black blouse, black flats and minimal makeup, my wild hair tucked into a messy bun. He was currently in the kitchen humming and mixing things in a pot that was giving off a most delicious smell. These days I had been giving my current form a variety of different foods to see what she liked and didn't like, and my taste buds and sense of smell began to expand.

I was sitting on his couch mentally pep talking my true form not to use a lot of energy tonight, because Jackson was quite draining, but the smell of his cooking was intensifying, and my mouth was beginning to water. How strange. I got up and navigated my way to his kitchen and stood against the wall watching him silently. We were of the same mind when it came to our fashion choices because he was in all black tonight too. I watched his corded arm muscles flex and relax as he flipped the vegetables in a wok and then he lifted the lid off of another pot letting out more delicious smells.

"Come here and taste this" His voice commanded without even turning around. It startled me for a brief moment because I didn't think he knew I was standing there. I walked over to him and silently opened my mouth as he placed a spoon of some delicious sauce in my mouth.

"Mmmm" I murmured appreciatively, "This is really good, what is it?".

"Hot and Sour soup" He smiled before putting the lid back on it, "It's my mom's recipe. She used to make it for me when I was little".

My parents had been dead for hundreds of years and we didn't eat in their sense of the words back then. "Damn you really can cook" I giggled, and he laughed lightly looking at me.

The aura suddenly changed, and I could feel something between us, it wasn't energy but it was a sort of magnetic attraction. My current form felt it too because I could feel my nipples hardening beneath my blouse and my breathing became a tad bit labored. Jackson's eyes fell to my mouth as I flicked my tongue over my bottom lip and before I could say a word he had me backed up against the counter. His lips crashed down on mine and I moaned in surprise.

Whoa! What is the feeling? My current and inner form began to battle each other but my current form was the winner of this fight as I grabbed on to his shirt and pulled him in close to me. His hands roamed down to my ass and he squeezed gently before lifting me up effortlessly onto the counter. I angled my face and he deepened the kiss before his lips traveled down my jawline to my neck and I threw my head back relishing in the sensations that my current form was experiencing.
