Dan POV:

"He's dangerous, we have no way to safely constrain him."

"This will do for now."

"If he escapes, he could kill you, sir. He could kill us all."

"He won't, not while we have Lester. Have him constrained too, just in case."

"Yes, sir."

"Leave us alone. If I'm not out in twenty minutes, get 'the scorpion' and be prepared for anything."

"Yes, sir."

.....

It takes my eyes a moment to adjust to the bright light shining above my head. It takes my brain a moment to recall what had happened.

I can remember this wrath burning inside me when I saw Phil get impaled with that scalpel.

After that, it was like I wasn't in control of my body. I could still comprehend what was going on around me. This source of power radiating through my veins. I wanted to hurt Chris. I wanted him to pay for all he's done.

And then he was up against the wall like a hunter's trophy. He looked terrified but there was something else to his expression. Something of excitement.

Phil looked as though he did not recognize me, and I neither did I. The power had become too much for my body to handle. I felt I was about to implode. All of my strength had been sucked out of my body.

I felt the weakest I had ever been, but the strongest at the same time.

"Oh, you're awake," I hear a voice say from across the room.

Chris walks over, and I want to slap that grin right off his face.

My whole body is constrained with leather straps. A gag is concealing my words. I feel incredibly vulnerable, yet unstoppable.

"I'm sure you have many questions, Dan. But you'll have to save them for another time."

He then walks to his computer, and types in a few words.

Suddenly, I am moving backwards. I realize that I am going into one of those CT scanner machines. I remember being in one of these as a kid, and I was absolutely terrified. But what I felt then is nothing compared to what I am feeling right now.

The machine starts, a blaring, ear piercing noise coming from it. Little tiny lasers then shoot from everywhere onto my body. It feels like pins and needles piercing into my skin. I screech in pain against my gag, my whole body feeling like it is about to bleed dry.

After what feels like forty years, the noise and lasers stop. That was no CT scanner. I am then brought out of whatever malicious machine that was.

Chris doesn't even care to check to see if I'm alive, but is staring at his computer screen in awe. When he moves to the side, I see what looks like an x-ray. Except it is not an x-ray. There is glowing liquid flowing through the veins of the body shown. The brain shows thousands of little balls of light bouncing around, and the bones are glowing blue.

Is that... me?

Chris then looks over and sees me staring at his screen, and quickly shuts it off.

He walks over to me and picks up yet another syringe off the table next to me.

I try to wriggle out of my restraints, but it is no use. I notice a green, luminous bracelet on my right hand. What the hell is that for?

He then injects me with whatever was in his syringe, and as per routine, I lose conscious a couple seconds later.

.....

"He's the most powerful I've seen yet. I wonder how powerful the other one will be."

"Hopefully enough, I need all the power I can get."

"You mean that we can get."

"Yes, we. Now off you go. And bring that thing to one of our specialized cells, along with the other boy."

"But they'll see the others-"

"Do as I say, Chris. Remember who is giving you this opportunity."

"Yes, my lord."
