Phil POV:
"Dan, Dan, wake up honey, c'mon," I whisper as I shake Dan slightly.
He has been unconscious for about an hour since Chris dropped him off here.
"Don't let him do anything stupid," he had warned me, and then walked away.
What happened to him back there? How the hell did he break through that rope? How did he move Chris with his mind?
I have so many questions, and I'm hoping Dan can answer some of them when he wakes up.
I walk over to my new bed and start crying. I can not live like this. I miss my family, I miss my own bed, I miss the life I used to have.
My parents are back from Brazil, and probably think I died in a plane crash, as that is what these assholes told them.
I want to smell my mom's scent again, be in my dad's strong arms. I want to cuddle Dan in my bed, and feel the comfort of safety and warmth.
"Phil? Are you okay?" I look up to see a concerned Dan attempting to get up off the floor, but ultimately failing.
The boy is concerned for me, when he literally just flung a man across a room with his mind.
I wipe the tears off my face and rush over to him to help him stand.
"Why the hell are we in a new cell?" he asked as I brought him over to his bed.
"I don't know," I respond, looking around the small, metal box we are concealed in.
"How did you do..." I try to search for the right words, "that," I wave my arms around trying get my point across.
"I... don't know."
"Didn't Chris tell you anything?"
"No, he just put me in this big metal machine where thousands of tiny lasers shot me," he says, chuckling a little.
"Why is that funny?!"
"It's just that a couple months ago I was playing rock band in my living room and now I'm talking about how thousands of tiny lasers were just being shot at me. This is all so weird," Dan explains.
I nod. We were just normal teenagers before all this, with normal lives.
I don't even know what normal is anymore.
"I overheard people talking when I was half-conscious. They were saying that I was dangerous and that I can't really be constrained. They said to put you in here with me 'just in case'."
"'Just in case' what? Can I do what you did? Do I have powers too?" I ask, a little excited.
"Maybe," he says, shrugging.
"You did look really badass, babe," I comment, attempting to lighten the mood a little.
"I felt badass," he laughs.
"You just flung him across the room like he was a feather! And you broke through that rope like it wasn't even there!"
"Yeah, it was like something in a movie," Dan smiles.
"If I can do what you can do, we would literally be a power couple. We have to have a name!" I exclaim.
"Like what?" he asks, smiling.
