Kensi POV
I was only waiting for a couple minutes before I saw Deeks walk in. I took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. He came and sat next to me. We made small talk for awhile before he looked me in the eyes.
“Kensi, you didn’t call me here to make small talk.”’ He was right. I wasn’t here for small talk. I was here for a heart to heart conversation.
I looked at Deeks, I looked right into his eyes. How was I going to word this?
“Deeks, I know that I can trust you. I know that I can tell you anything. I’m not going to make this long. It will be long enough just to tell you what is needed to be said.” He didn’t say anything, but her took my hand and whispered ever so slightly
“I will listen no matter how short or long. I will love you for the rest of my life.” I was about to cry. But I didn’t I had done enough crying to last me a couple of years. And now I was breaking apart some of my walls.
“I meet up with Joseph last night.” I didn’t know where to start so I started with something that I knew he would understand. I looked at Deeks, he didn’t have to say anything, his eyes told me everything. “He didn’t do anything. We went back to the house with the kids and watched them for about 2 hours.” I paused, now I had to think about how to word the next part. “Deeks, he kidnapped my mother. I got her back but then she left. She left like she didn’t even care that I broke God knows how many laws to get her back. She walked out. I put up walls because it’s easier to think. It’s easier to pretend that nothing is wrong. I put on smiles everyday because it’s how I cope.” I had tears streaming down my face. I didn’t know how I was going to tell him the next part. He looked down and then back at me.
“Kensi, we don’t have to do this here. Let’s go back to my house and we can talk there.” I couldn’t go back to his house.
“No, I’m fine.”
“Kensi you aren’t fine. Come on; let’s go somewhere a bit more private.”
“Okay, but we are going to my hotel room.” I slowly start to rise. He grabbed my arm. I looked at him, not quite meeting his gaze. He took me into a hug; it wasn’t like a quick hug that you gave friends. It was a REAL hug. I start to weep, big fat tears rolled down my face. He took me by the hand and walked me to his car.
Deeks POV
My meeting with Kensi didn’t go as planned. I don’t think it went the right way for me or for her. Despite her auguring, I took her back to the hotel. I could tell she was exhausted. As we rode everything was silent. Our breathing patterns were together. There wasn’t any traffic; it was the perfect beginning to what sounded like could be a very messy night. We pulled into the driveway of the inn she was staying at. She gets out and slowly closes the door. She scans the parking lot. I don’t dare ask who she is looking for.
“I’m room 13; I’ll be up there in a minute.” She hands me a key walks towards the main office. I thought about following her but I didn’t. I went up to her room and unlocked it. I can safely say that it was much cleaner than I thought it would be. 5 minutes later she came back.
“So um…” What exactly do I say at a time like this? She came in looking very confused; she was throwing things into her bags. I didn’t understand what was going on here? We came here because she wanted to. I just sat back, if she was on one of her mini rampages I didn’t want to get involved. She started to walk out, bags and all. I waited a couple of minutes.
“Are you coming or not?” I heard her loud and clear all the way from the car.
“Yes, snookums,” I ran, she cleared everything out. I locked the door back and hesitantly walked to the car. For now I was just going to follow her. She grabbed my keys out of the middle counsel and started the engine.
“Um… Kensi? Where are we going?” she didn’t answer at first. She sped out of the parking lot so fast I thought I was going to puke.
“Home.” That’s all she said. It was a 40 minute ride to her house. Only we didn’t go to her house we went to mine. She drove to MY house. We arrived at she got out and grabbed her bags. By this time it was 9:00pm. Kensi being Kensi knew where my where my key was she let herself in to my house. I was still severely confused. I just quietly followed.
“Kensi? Do you care to let me know what you’re doing?”
“I figured that, if I couldn’t hide from anyone then I might as well stay with someone who I can trust. I knew that you wouldn’t mind so I’m going to put all my stuff in your guest room.” This was the best thing that I had ever heard. It was amazing.
“O—okay,” she went to the back room and fishing unpacking. I stood in the doorway still dazed about what just happened. It took her 5 minutes.
“Are you hungry? I can order Chinese.”
“That would be great. I’m just going to take a quick shower.” I called the Chinese place and ordered. It would be 20 minutes. Within 15 she was out of the shower, dressed, and had blow dried her hair. The food come and we ate. We talked about simple things because I wasn’t going to bring the other thing up. When we got done, she laid her head on me and was asleep in a heartbeat. I moved her to the bed and tucked her in. I went back to the living room and sat on the couch. I was watching the T.V and thinking. About 0300 Kensi walked out of the room, her cute self walked into the kitchen and got something to drink.
“Kens? Baby? What are you doing?” She didn’t answer and I realized that she was sleep walking. I took the drink from her.
“Come on Kensi. Let’s go back to bed.” I took her to her bed and then went to bed myself.
