The next day at school wasn't much different than before; Jin was still running away from Jungkook. This time he was running away mostly from the confrontation. He feared that he wouldn't be able to explain how he feels. He feared speaking one on one with Jungkook. He feared putting a bigger burden on him. Most importantly, he feared the inevitably loss of their friendship.
Pacing and constantly trying to back out, Jin can't help but to let out a groan of frustration. Throughout his life, his contemplation of doing something or not has often led him to back out of his original decision. More often than not, his original decision was the correct one. This constant contemplation also reduces his resolve and confidence as he tends to overthink even the simplest things.
Today he has to go against all that in order to grow as a person and hopefully lessen his pain. Which was the only thing keeping him in check and making him actually do it.
Jin had already texted Jungkook to meet him during lunch behind the school building where the garden is. Jungkook hadn't questioned and had agreed. It was now lunch and Jin was hiding, behind the corner of the building, from Jungkook who was already at the garden. He knew that this was something he had to do so with a last bang to the wall with his forehead he forced himself to leave his hiding spot and confront Jungkook.
As he walks up to him Jin can't help but stare at him with how good he looks with even a simple tight black ripped jeans and and a loose white t-shirt that shows his collar bone. Jin isn't able to help the wave of sadness that passes over him as he realizes that this could be the last time he is able to see him this up close.
Jungkook glances up from his phone when he feels someone sit beside him and smiles as he asks, "Its been awhile, whats up?"
"Not much," Jin began, "I just wanted to talk to you about something thats been on my mind recently."
"Which is?"
"Well I first want to say that I don't want and need a response from you. I only came to end this. Whatever this is." Jin paused not waiting for Jungkook's response as he continued, "I know. I know about your feelings for me. I overheard the conversation you had with Tae when you asked him if he was going to Hoseok's party."
"Jin I-", Jungkook started.
"I don't want to hear it. Please." Jin interrupted. "Like I said I came here to end it. End it because I know that I cannot pretend to be friends with you without hurting myself," he whispered. "I've already hurt for too long. I don't know if you've been aware or not but it doesn't matter anymore. I'm sorry for being annoying to you. For forcing my feelings on you. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable. And most of all I just want to say," Jin stated as he finally got the courage to look at Jungkook, "I'm truly sorry for being a burden. I'll leave you alone now knowing that it's such a relief for you. That's all. Like I said I don't want a response, please just go."
After a few moments, Jungkook stood up briefly paused and left without a word. Unable to contain his tears any longer, Jin felt drops fall onto his closed fist on his thighs that were followed by more. Even though he felt relief, his sadness was still there. He had just ended a chapter. Ended a friendship. Yet ended the pain. But he couldn't help but cry. Cry for what felt like hours.
Jin cried without realizing that lunch had ended. The only thing Jin noticed was the shadow that blocked the sun from hitting his face. Looking up Jin saw a single daisy right in front of him. Following the hand that was holding that daisy he saw him.
