TS - 4 : Balter

Elise's POV

March 31, 2014. 8:30 pm.

malamig at malalim na ang gabi nang tumigil ang sasakyan ni Chaos. Ibang-iba ang aura niya ngayon, tila masaya siya. Masasabi mo yun kung titigan mo yung mga mata niya at ang ngiti niya. I wondered why and then it hit me. The place surrounding us was beautiful.

Tall trees and grass were all over the place. Daffodils dominated all over. Makikita mo parin ang kulay nila kahit madilim. It was as if they were glowing in the dark.

"Wow." yan lang ang nasabi ko. I was awestruck, and I couldn't even manage to speak.

"Rendered speechless?" tumawa siya at tumango ako. I took off my shoes and ran. The feel of the soft grass on my feet was very satisfying. I spun around and danced under the moonlight. This was the best place to be on Earth, where you could leave all your worries.

He laughed as I continued my business. "Balter." I said. "What?" he asked, confusion spread on his face.

"Balter. To dance without grace or skill, but with enjoyment."

"What do I have to with it?" Tanong niya.

"You should try it sometime. You could get so involved in it, that you could forget everything."

"Nah, I'll pass. You can never forget everything. It will still haunt you no matter how much you try."

One of my eyebrows rose at what he said. napaka-nega talaga nitong lalakeng to. I frowned and wore my shoes again, as he took something from his car.

I watched him as he set a few things on the grass. A blanket and a basket? How come I didn't notice that a while ago?

"A picnic?" I said, stating the obvious

"Bakit? May problema ba?"

"Nothing. I just never took you for the picnic guy type. " I chuckled. Hindi halata na he was into these kind of things. For a moment, I could see real happiness and content at what he was doing.

"Upo ka." He instructed while patting the space next to him.

Umupo ako rito habang may kinuha siya s loob ng basket. It was a selection of to-go food. Pizza, fries, a bucket of chicken & tray of lasagna was set on the blanket.

He then handed me an opened can of coke. I gladly took it from him and drank up.

Nagsimula na kaming kumain. Tahimik lang kami, and I was deeply bothered by the silence.

I chose to break it by opening a topic. " Look up at the stars, Chaos." Wala na kasi akong ibang maisip. Tsaka ayoko namang maging masyadong awkward yung first date ko, na hindi kayo nagkausap.

"Ayoko nga. They're the cruelest things ever created." he blurted. cruelest? Bakit naman? Pano bang naging cruel ang pinakamagandang bagay na nilikha?

"Weh? Bakit naman?"

"Long story."

"Then make it short."

"Fine." he paused. "Kasi, Tuwing humihiling tayo doon, umaasa tayo na matutupad yun kahit na there's not even a slight chance na matutupad iyon. Its like knowing that its impossible, but you keep on believing cause its the only thing you could hold on to. Nagising na ako sa katotohanan Elise. Its about time na magising na rin ang iba."
