The Darkest Night
The sun has set
The black skies arose
Wind blew hard
Dust storms grew and grew
A cloud of pure black let loose tears
I couldnt see anything
Lightning lit up the sky
So bright it looked like day
Thunder boomed...
Like bombs being dropped
The darkest night did dawn upon us
Lightning cracked-
I had to look away
People cried
I was forced to hide
On the darkest night of history
100 years ago to that day
A special anniversy stood
of the day a huge tornado
Swept our town away
Killing and wounding
That same very day
100 years in the future
A tornado once again destroyed our town
Killin few and wounding way to many
The darkest night
was swept upon us
it happened a little to quickly
The birds flew off
animals hid far away
and out of sight
Thunder shook my house
the rain grew thick
I couldnt see
Good lord I thought-
could it really be
Trees fell over
Debris flew all around
Lights went out
My family screamed
The night was not yet nearly over
The tornado touched down
the wind blew so hard
The tornado ran right straight
on the path it took
100 years before
it ran right through Albertville
My small little town...
