I headed in the direction of the canteen smiling.
The corridors where packet like always but most people seemed to move out the way for me.
There was a guy I recognised from my classes being pushed from side to side more than needed.
He muttered something under his breath.
He fixed his fringe and kept walking.
I keep smiling walking past him and straight into the canteen.
My friend Charley was standing out side waiting for me.
"Hey."
He said smiling.
"Hey!"
I said back with more energy.
He laughed and we walked into the canteen most eyes on us.
You see where the 'popular' people.
How I don't know.
I guess I just made the right friends.
We talked got our food and sat down.
I was going to ask him how his football tryouts went when his girlfriend Mackenzie bounced over blonde hair combed back into a ponytail.
"Hey babe."
She said kissing his cheek and sitting down.
"Hey."
He replied smiling like an idiot.
"I haven't got much time I got cheerleading tryouts."
"Uh Huh."
Me and Charley both said at the same time.
She smiled at us.
"Anyway I got to go but see you soon."
She kissed him on the cheek and bounced off.
"How can you deal with that?"
I asked him.
Mackenzie's my friend as well it's just I don't understand how he can put up with that 24/7.
"I think it's cute."
He said smiling.
They are the schools power couple.
I'll never understand high school.
