“Do you guys have to choose today?” Gray sprawled himself out on the bed.
“Of course we won't have any other time to get together like this. We have work and family to consider now you know.”
“But the boys and I already made plans”
“Plans which are more important than taking care of your own daughter?!!” Gray flinched a bit. Juvia has never before raised her voice when talking to him, aside from when she was pregnant and got grumpy all the time.
“No it’s not but—”
“But what Gray?! Every day I work around this house, I take care of Ur and make dinner. Do you help? No! Are you here?! No!”
“Babe, honey, stop shouting. I get your point now calm down. We don’t wanna wake her up too early.” Gray hugged her from behind.
“It’s just that I feel as if I’m always the one doing the work around here. You go to work early and you come back late. She misses you, you know? When you get back she is always asleep and when you leave she’s not awake yet. ”
“You know what you’re right and I’m sorry. You deserve this day off to go and relax with the girls. I’ll take care of Ur.”
“Thanks Gray. This is why I love you” and she kissed him…on the cheek.
“What? No kiss on the lips?”
“If you do a good job with Ur, I’ll reward you with something far better than a kiss on the lips” She stood in the door jamb and lifts her skirt, revealing her long, slender legs.
“Say no more. I hope you keep your promise Mrs Juvia Fullbuster”
“A promise is a promise Mr Gray Fullbuster.” He leaned in for a kiss but Juvia walked away.
“Are you forgetting what I said already?” she walked away heading down the stairs swinging her hips and humming.
Gray walked into his three years old daughter’s room.
“We’ll show mommy how good I can be. Isn’t that right princess?” On hearing her father’s voice Ur’s eyes fluttered open. She had hooded eyes just like her mom but had Gray’s hair colour.
“Daddy!!!” she stretched her small arms out hugging her father around his neck.
“Morning my little sunshine. How about going on a walk with daddy and your uncles today?”
“Let’s go!!” Ur pointed her index finger towards her room door indicating for Gray to go.
Gray got her freshened up and dressed her in an ice blue floral dress with white shoes and blue socks. He decided to leave the hair to Juvia.
“Will mommy be there?”
“Afraid not sweetie” she looked down to her shoes and fiddled with the hem of her dress.
“Will you miss mommy?” she nodded and Gray noticed she was gonna cry.
“Shhh don’t cry. Don’t you wanna show mommy how big you’ve grown?” she nodded.
“Guess what? Mommy promised if you were a good girl on the trip there’ll be treats” her eyes gleamed.
“Let’s go daddy, show mommy Ur is a big girl, let’s go!”
Gray picked Ur up in his arms when they reached the stairs.
“Mommy!!!!”
“My pumpkin!!!” Juvia took Ur from Gray and kissed her all over her face,
“You look so beautiful. I love your outfit”
“Thanks, daddy dressed me” Gray watched as his two favourite girls in the world conversed. He smiled at them and pulled out his phone snapping a few pics.
“Mommy daddy said I’m a big girl”
“Yes you are, you are our big girl”
“Mommy the prettiest woman” Juvia smiled looking at her daughter.
“No you are”
“Daddy said I’ll be pretty like mommy one day.”
“Or even prettier” Juvia smiled.
