Everything is so fuzzy. Everything is so bright.

I close my eyes once more.

I want to wait until my family gets here.

They deserve to see my eyes first.

  So wait I did.

The next day Sasha came in.

"Hey Kate. They told me you should wake up sometime next week. I hope it's sooner."

She puts puts her hand under mine on the mattress, clutching it tightly.

I touch her hand with my thumb. I had to wait.

She moves her hand from mine. "We'll all be here tomorrow. See you then, Kate."

I waited until the next day. Though, I didn't feel the need to sleep.

I heard all of them come in. They weren't doctors. They were my family.

I slowly opened my eyes, and hissed when they were met with light. WHY IS MY ROOM SO BRIGHT?

My family stared at me. "Wh-h-at?"

I was tackled in five hugs at once. "Kate I'm so glad you're awake!" "M-eee to-o S---a--sh---a. I mis-eddd you gu--ys." "Would you like some water?" I nodded slightly. Sasha left. And in came a doctor. A female doctor. She smiled lightly. "I take it she has woken up?"

"She has. She's finally awake!" Moved my arm to hug my mom. She sobbed into my shoulder. "I thought I'd loose you Kate. Please don't do anything like that ever again!"

"Ma'am, we need to do some tests to make sure she'll be okay. Though, we might need to tell her what we've been avoiding."

"You might as well tell her now." Sasha entered with a cup of water and helped me drink it. I smiled at her.

"Excuse me, Kate." I looked to the doctor in the room. "I have some news to tell you. During the crash, your legs were broken. You can't walk until your legs heal. Which will be in a few weeks. In the meantime, you can work on your motor skills. Like playing the guitar or cards. But please refrain from taking any non prescription drugs and harming yourself in any way. Or else we'll be seeing you here again."

I nodded. "I guess I'll have a lot of explaining to do." My voice still sounded rough, but at least I could speak better thanks to that water.

The doctor exited, saying that I would be discharged in five days.

Hey. I wanted to write something happy this chappy. So I sorta did. Anyways, catch you on the flip side!
