"Oh wow, you actually showed up today!" Aaron excitedly announced as he plopped down next to me, twenty minutes early for biology.
"Shh, not so loud!" I winced and slid down my chair, massaging my temples in an attempt to soothe the throbbing.
After the drunken kiss last night, Keegan and I indulged in cheap beer and Comedy Central, which ended in me passing out and waking up with a massive headache and no Keegan.
Aaron chuckled next to me, patting my head in sympathy. "So you enjoyed the party last night?"
Well, besides having my first and second kiss, getting drunk and waking up with spaghetti for brains I guess it was okay. Pff.
"I did, I didn't see you around though?" I turned sideways to get a better view of Aaron but found him staring at me, with more of a death stare than one of those romantic types of stares. He shook his head and plastered a smile on his face so I decided to blame my weird delusions on my pulsating headache. Was I still drunk?
"Uhm, yeah. I came a bit late because of work and when I went looking for you, you already left," his hand covered mine as he spoke and I pulled away abruptly, his hands were freezing, literal definition of ice blocks for hands. Not warm at all like Keegan's when he held my face between his large hands, but on the other hand that could've been my face that was hot. From the alcohol, of course.
Why the hell am I even thinking about Keegan? Dickhead.
"Rose? You good?" Aaron asked, snapping me out of the maze I called my thoughts. I focussed my eyes on him and he was closer than I originally thought.
"All good," I squeaked and pulled myself together. "I'm never drinking again." I laughed, leaning backwards and awkwardly slapping my legs to emphasize the laugh and get a bit of space between us.
He frowned with confusion but laughed along. Ah, this was very awkward. "Maybe that's a good idea, although, where's the fun in that?" His tone was suddenly serious and quite threatening, I must still be drunk.
I smiled politely at him, meeting his gaze once again. I swear to god a scream rose in my throat when I saw his eyes, they were yellowish and definitely not the color they were literally two seconds ago. Instead, I shook my head when the large wooden doors creaked open and when I looked at him again, his eyes were very much normal and he had a dashing smile on his face.
I solemnly swear that I will never consume alcohol ever again.
"Good morning, everyone. I hope you all had a good evening and I hope I will have your undivided attention today since I will be discussing important dates for your finals." Our professor said and the class groaned almost in harmony with each other. When did the class even fill up?
"Oh, please do contain your excitement!" He said again in a dull, monotone. Same could be said for you, teach. He busied himself with turning on the projectors when Aaron's arm snaked over the back of my chair.
My heart rate accelerated as I snuck a sideways glance at him and found him already staring. Seriously, I didn't know whether to feel flattered or creeped out.
"Maybe we can study together? I'm kind of confused when it comes to the reproductive organs, the whole process confuses me actually." He whispered, dropping his arm to my shoulders. My cheeks were aflame as I ignored the cold seeping through my t-shirt.
He chuckled slightly and I felt like a total idiot, he was teasing me. "I mean, I was too shy to admit this, but it confuses me too. Like I never know what goes in where, maybe we can figure it out together?" I spoke confidently and turned sideways, mentally high-fiving myself when I saw his shocked face. I didn't mean a word I said and felt somewhat guilty for saying something like that but proud nonetheless.
