Chapter 52

“I love you so much and I will always love you no matter what ever happens to us, whatever argument we get into I love you so much.” My stomach flutters in excitement and probably because Im hungry. We both wipe each other’s tears before heading into the small store that is constructed exactly like one. Cane and I both walk down a small isle to see a whole row of scissors and hair cutting supplies. I grab a few thing I think I might will need before we leave.

“Next week there will be a new system that you have to do service and stuff around the camp to get fake money, enough to buy things at the stores. We are running low on things and they don’t want us going out much anymore so this will be the last times we can get things for free.”

“Ah that don’t bother me, free food at the café and I have clothes I think I am set until she is born.” I pat my stomach and yet again it flutters. What is my stomachs deal! “Wait, I need some food.” I head back inside investigating an isle before I find what im looking for. To ease my cravings I get pretzels with peanut butter in them. Yus!

“Um are you Belle? There is a package here for you if you want it?” Well of course I want it! I grab it from the young counsilors hands and walk back out to Cane who is just relaxing in the cart happily.

“What is that?” Cane takes the box from me and shakes it, there is some rustling on the inside before he stops and we both look at the top to see only a lipstick kiss on it. Its my color lipstick. My eyes wander to Cane and he looks eager to open it.

“Don’t open it.” I whisper releasing my hold on it.

“Why not? This is cool its dated for a year ago and its to you!” He opens it before I can react and a rat comes jumping out and into my lap. My piercing scream fills the air and the rat jump off of me and it runs in the opposite direction. Canes hand slaps to my mouth before I can scream louder.

“Its okay it was just a rat.” He pulls me in and my sun burn scream in protest.

“Cane! I am tired of these jokes people are pulling! I just am so done.” I throw the things on the ground and start stomping in the direction of the house. It took ten minutes to drive over here so its probably going to be a long walk.

“Come on Belle don’t be irrational about this, lets go get into the cart and we can talk to someone about this.”

“No thanks, I feel like walking.” My arms fold from preventing me to punch something with my bad arm. Cane pulls up next to me in the cart with all the stuff next to him.

“Come on you shouldn’t be walking. Just get in the cart and we can swing on the porch swing. Its freaky out here at night.”

“No its not.” My stomach flutters once again and I scream in frustration. “I don’t feel hungry!” I scream at my stomach before Cane stops to look at me weird.

“Uh…what?” I cave in to my weakness of my legs at the moment and climb into the cart but not moving at all. Cane faces me staring at my frustrated mood amused.

“My stomach keeps getting these butterflies like its hungry but I don’t feel hungry!”  I look up to Cane to see if he has an explanation but he is just smiling ear to ear. He puts his hand on my belly and presses kind of hard but I smack his hand away. “You’re going to make me pee myself.”

“Belle, she is moving, you’re not hungry, she’s moving!” What? Wouldn’t she kick?

“Oh…Oh!” I get excited myself placing my hand where Canes used to be but she doesn’t move again. “I scared her. I am so sorry baby, mommy is so sorry.” I talk in a baby tone and Cane starts driving again but not paying attention mostly to my stomach. “I think she has tired herself out. Maybe tomorrow you’ll feel it. I hear their more active at night so she might move again. Don’t worry you have four more months left to feel her move.” Cane looks so disappointed and sad but I mean there is nothing for me to do, I can’t control when she moves and doesn’t.
