I wait for Cane to come back out so I decide to put my feet into the pool, just to sit on the edge. The water feels so cool on my aching legs., I let my entire body just relax letting the sun heat up my body while the water cools my feet and ankles.
CANE POV
I walk out of the bathroom messing with my drenched hair, shaking it so the water stops dripping in my eyes. Once my eyes spot Belle relaxing on the edge of the pool I stop to stare at how lucky I am to have such a great girl in my life. Garet, who is leaning up against the wall, is staring at her too.
"Man, you are so lucky to have such a girl as fine as her." He coos brushing his hair out of his face.
"Yup she is perfect, today is her swimming lesson."
"Cane, I really want to get in it feels so good!" Belle snaps us from our conversation while she puts her long hair in a messy bun on the top of her head again. She sets her glasses on the rim of the pool and eases in holding onto the rim for dear life.
"Okay one sec don't slip okay?" She gives a fake scared expression pretending to slip putting my nerves on high alert. "Seriously be careful!" Why did she get into the depend? We need to practice in the more shallower end.“Okay, okay just chill.” She tries kicking and starts her own lesson.
“So word is she is pregnant? Is it yours?” He nudges my arm cauing me to sigh, I am her husband, yes it is mine. Is that seriously how the world is? Even though she is my wife its not my baby?
“Yes she is mine, and I am one hundred percent sure because I was there when she took the test and I was her first. She is too sweet to do another guy.” He only gives a crude snort disapprovingly.
“Whatever man. Go teach your girl to swim before she drowns.”
“Late man.” I push off against the wall running with a giant smile towards Belle.
Belle POV
All of the sudden Cane jumps clear over me in a perfect formation of a dive into the silky water causing him to splash me. His muscles all tensed together to form his perfect dive. His legs and toes pointed, his head down with his arms tight behind his ears. One hand over another, it looks so graceful. He then spins under the water darting up to me. “Hey babe, like the view?” He comes up panting with water dripping down his face, ever droplet finding a crevice in his face sliding down perfectly. I push the dripping hair out of his eyes making him smile. “I take that as a yes.” He grabs my waist and starts pushing me along the wall while he treads the water. “Swimming is really easy, its all about coordination and not panicking. If you do panic you have no coordination. Therefor you cant swim.” He continues guiding me all the way to his version of shallow where I cannot touch. Clearly.
“Sounds easy enough.” I let go of the wall trying to tred water like he did but end up going under the water. Hey this may be an advantage. I start kicking fiercly under the water until I feel him yank me up by the waist. “Hey I was trying something!” He puts me back against the wall and sighs impatiently.
“Trying to see how long you can hold your breath under the water? It really isn’t that hard. Kick and do arm strokes.”
“I know I was trying!” He places his hands on the front of my legs making me lie flat on the water with his other hand on my chest holding me afloat careful not to let my face hit the water.
“This is floating, now I want you to take me to the other side of the pool where I can touch. Use your arms and legs okay? Got it?”
“Yes.” I sigh doing everything I can to start swimming. My body begins to skim across the water before there is a loud boom following by shouting and gun shots.
“Shit! Belle I need you to get home and hide! Lock all the doors, close the curtains and hide in Caitlyns room, it’s the safest room in the house. Come on lets go.” He just about throws me out of the house giving me one last hug and kiss before he runs in the direction of the wall shouting along with the rest of the guys. Adrenaline starts pumping through my veins making me dart into action grabbing my things and running towards the cart. All the girls are running around yet again screaming like lunatics blocking a steady path for me to go through.
“Get! Out! Of! My! Way!” I bark to all of them over their obnoxious screams causing them all the run in the direction of the nearest cabin. My foot rams on the gas with so much force and determination to get home. My eye catches a slow walking pale person wandering around near my house. As I get closer I realize to my horror we are not safe, a zombie got in some how and if that happened then there must be more or it got to someone. The zombie spots me and starts walking faster my way towards this fast moving cart. The adrenaline soon faded and turned to fear as I jerk the steering wheel away from it causing me to completely turn around and start driving in the opposite direction. To check my surroundings I quickly look around to see two more in more populated areas but the guys are all shooting in the wrong areas, its in here that needs the shooting.
I turn attention back to where I am going to see I am about to hit a person in a full suit but with a black mask over his face hiding his identity. A piercing scream fills the air drowning out the rest of the girls’. My foot slams on the breaks making my head slam onto the steering wheel with such force causing everything to be hazy and blurry. It already was because I forgot my glasses. My ears ring giving me an awful headache, my forehead now feels hot and wet. The man slowly makes his way to me holding half my body in his limp arms. He holds up a purple syringe whispering in my ear. “For safe measures.” He jabs it into the side of my neck giving a weak hiss in return from the sharp pinch and little burn that comes with it. His voice sounded all too familiar but not enough for me to figure out at the moment. My whole body goes numb making me sink into his arms and giving in to sleep.
