Chapter 74

Why hasn’t anyone come in here for me? How come they haven’t caught him?

My breathing is staggered and my heart feels crushed, over run by another human being. I don’t know if I can handle this again? Quickly standing up with all my might I quickly move through the dark and empty hallway. Why isn’t anyone out here? My bare feet against the solid, freezing metal causes shivers to run through my body while I quickly run to Hails bedroom to find it occupied by someone I cant see through the darkness.  

“Hello? Someone there?” The body squirms until standing right next to me looking worried, its Hails brother.

“Are you alright? Are these new?” He reaches out to touch them but my instincts are to flinch away terrified. Even though I know he wont hurt me. But actually how can I know? I didn’t know Cane would?

“Uh…where is Hail? I really need to speak with him.” He only looks saddened before pointing to some place I cant see in the dark.

“The bathroom, he is taking a shower.” He slowly goes back to the bed resting himself on it sighing at the roof before flipping it off with anger. The door to the bathroom opens revealing Hail with a towel over his lower half. He looks up to me worried before rushing over to me only to cause me a few steps back.

“Um… Hail? Could you uh…take me up to get a midnight snack?” Stuttering with fear I only want him alone but wherever Cane is he knows were I am too.

“Sure, whats wrong? Are those new? Who did these?” He cups my face only to stare into his eyes with horror begging him to leave me be, but longing to tell him. He drags me in further locking the door behind him sitting me on their bed giving me their full attention.

“They aren’t I just am hungry. Could you quickly get chaged so we could? Im not comfortable being around here by myself.”

“Your hiding it I know that. I know you are scared and I am not going to force it out of you. So yes I will get changed and we can go. You and Ben talk for a moment.” He refferst to his other brother before going back into the bathroom to change, being here just sitting here awkwardly makes things stuffy and uncomfortable.

“Are you sure you are okay?” He asks looking into my eyes, but all I want to do is scream to let everyone know who did it. It just doesn’t seem right, Cane loved me and I know that, after we came here he seemed different, or after we put him to sleep that is.

“Yeah…” Looking away any where but his eyes so I don’t spill the truth that is going to get me killed. Hail walks back out looking exhausted and I am too since it is only two in the morning.

“Ready for that snack?” My mind altered snack into smack so I flinched away from him ready for the blow before I said it again in my mind reading snack. Slowly nodding my head we both make our way out of the room and into the long, dark, and ere corridor. I stay very close behind him practically on top of his heals with my toes stubbing into his heals. “So Belle? Tell me a little bit about yourself.”

“What do you want to know?” Shyly whispering, no matter what if they say they wont hurt me you can never trust them because they always will hurt you with words or abuse.

“Like what is your favorite color?” He looks back to me pulling me to the side of him so I am not behind him alone.

“Purple.”

“Uh…what is your favorite food?”

“Sugar.”

“Your favorite song?”

“Rude! By Magic!” He gives a slow nod and as we turn the corner to go up the stairs Cane is trotting himself down and when he sees me, which I know he did before he puts on a fake smile.
