Your husband, Hayes, has been gone for 7 months now. He was in the army and he wasn't supposed to come anytime soon. At least, not for 5 months or so.
His discharge letter from the army hadn't arrived just yet, and you feared the worst. Hayes could've died.
They would've told you though! Nothing made sense so you stopped jumping to conclusions. You went inside your home and picked up your pug, Liz, and started playing around with her.
On a nearby table, your phone rang. You looked at your blue iPhone and saw the call came from your best friend since childhood, Gracie.
You picked up the phone and said, "Hello, y/n Grier here."
Gracie laughs into the phone. "Hey girl. I was thinking...want a girl's night out? Dan is coming back from his business trip tomorrow and I wanted to go somewhere right before he came back. What do you say?"
You smile. It would get your mind off Hayes's safety for now. "Totally! Where at?"
"Wanna go to the theater? I hear that new movie, can't remember what it's called, is super good. We should go see that!"
"That one with Cameron Dallas in it? Yes, let's see it!"
"Ok, I'll see you tonight!"
"K, bye!"

I smirked as I hung up the phone.
I wanted to have a girl's night with y/n, but little did she know that I took the discharge letter from her mailbox and hid it. Hayes is coming back today, but she doesn't know and he's gonna appear at the movie theater.
Muahahaha. She'll never know my little secret.

You and Gracie stand in line for the tickets around 8. The line wasn't ridiculously long, but you still had to wait for a little while.
Once you and Gracie finally get your tickets, you rush to get the stubs cut off and rush to get the refreshments from the concession stand.
You order a slice of pizza, a large bag of popcorn, and a bottle of water, and Gracie gets a large bag of popcorn, a box of Jr. Mints, and a large Coke.
Once you find the correct theater room, you sit down on a plush theater seat and look up at the big screen.
The previews are still playing, so you look around. Out of the corner of your eye, you see the door of the room open and the light entering the dark room. You turn your head back to the previews.
About 15 seconds after the door opened, someone's voice very familiar whispers in your ear, "Have you seen that movie? It's pretty great."
You immediately recognize the voice and turn in your seat.
The impenetrable eyes of your husband stare into yours. In a flash, your lips crash into each other's like the first kiss you ever shared together long ago in high school.
"Hayes," you say softly with tear stains on your face.
"Y/n," he says in response.
