The sun felt so good on my skin, and the water rushing behind me sounded so peaceful. Everything was so perfect until I heard the horn blast. The ceremony is about to begin and I am not ready yet. I slipped on my sandals and ran all the way down to our little village. Hundreds of people were already swarming around the Town Square. I spotted a few people that I knew, like Michaelangelo and Donatello. And of course I won't forget Crystal, she is a blondie but a goodie. My feet started to slow down when I spotted my house, I only need a few things then I'll be prepared for the ceremony.

I hate the ceremonies which are held each year, but I guess they are important because they at least infrom us of what will happen or what happened. Like last year, they told us that this year a new Protector  will be chosen. Only men are chosen, which really sucks because the so called Chief is actually saying that us women are not worthy enough to be one. I combed my orange hair and tied it up into a high ponytail and shrugged my green healer robe on. I might be eighteen but I'm a healer, the very best since the saga of Ashanti. She had three colors, Red, Green and White. All linking her to nature, but mine links me to nature, humans and animals. Red, Green, White, Orange, and Purple. But I rarely wear them, I mostly wear my green robe because I don't want to brag about it, since they say I brag and I don't because that's completely a waste of my time.

I shrugged my white robe on top of the green robe and I didn't button it up because I buttoned the green one up. I grabbed my wrist bands and tied them all on, from red to purple. Now it's time to brag. I slipped my green sandals on and hurried outside. The Town Square was barely visible due to the horde of people surrounding it.

I had to push people aside to get to the healer side, and they luckily understood my urgency to get there. I sat down just in time, and Harley sat next to me. I don't like Harley, she only has one color, Red. Linking her directly to blood and that's a dangerous gift to have she can accidentally drain your blood or her own blood, but luckily she was trained by the best blood manipulater ever, me. And now she thinks she's better than me, I got like five colors and she one, I can end her life if I want to. The horn blasted once more and the chubby man, who I presume is a dwarf but disguised himself as a human, stepped up unto the stage and cleared his throat before moving his mouth to the mic.

“My name is Jason Star and welcome to the annual ceremony. I will be your host for the day, let's begin shall we?” His voice sounded so dry and raspy but I might be imagining it. It's not like I even know what a dwarf looks like. I settled in my uncomfortable chair trying to make myself a tad comfortable but failed miserably. I started to count the seconds as Harley tapped her long slender fingers on her lap.

If she is bored then I don't know what I am. Honestly.
