“Wait!” I yelled out as a hologram came rushing to me, but of course it didn't listen. I winced in pain as it threw me across the room. I could hear footsteps running towards me.
“Really Amber? Again?” Theo said and helped me up. “It's a hologram, not a real person. Now imagine if that was a real person, you would have been slaughtered.” He said, not bothering to sugarcoat anything.
“You blame me? I was a Healer for heaven sake! I should feel remorse Mister Shortshit!” I snapped, elbowing him in the process.
“Jeez! Calm down Amber. I didn't mean it like that, but you should tell your heart that you are no longer a healer but a Protector and you don't have time to feel sorry for others. Watch.” He said as he faced the hologram. He casually walked towards it, he snapped its neck and it fell. It broke down into a lot of pixelated cubes.
“I see, you have no humanity. Wow.” I rolled my eyes at him.
“It's not about having humanity or not Amber.” He deadpanned. He grabbed me by the wrist. “I see we are not making any process, so let's sit down and discuss the term Protector.”
I sat down on the yoga mat whilst he sat on the balance beam. I don't even want to know why they have one. “So what do you know about Protectors?”
“I know that they protect people from the evil that roams around earth. And that they can also be healers.” I said as his mouth stretched into a huge girn.
“Correct but you're the first female and the first healer ever to be chosen. And you know that only men have been chosen right?”
“Yeah, I knew that too.” I nodded.
“Did you know that there has only been one mentor?” Theo's grin faded slowly.
“No.” He did say something about being Immortal.
“Listen, I'm sorry for being hard on you but I'm used to training men. And I know I'm gorgeous, just don't moan my name in your sleep, please.” Wait what?
“I did?” My cheeks grew a deep crimson as he smirked.
“You went like Oh Theo, why must you be so gorgeous?” I smacked him behind the head.
“Really? You could think of any other thing to say.” I giggled.
“Do you remember the first time you met Jack?” He asked me. His blue eyes ever so haunting.
“Yeah. It was a while ago. Three months before he left everything behind. He said he'll never dream of leaving me behind, I guess he decided to wake up.” I sighed. Theo frowned at me.
“He used to drive me crazy you know? Kept on talking about Amber which he left behind. Give him a chance, he has changed, I know that.”
“I thought so too. Makes us equally dumb.”
