Compton's Trillest: Chapter 6

~3 Years Later~

I haven't been hanging out with Arlie as much since he's been so caught up in the Gang shit.

On the bright side, I've been a lot closer to Varo. He was one of Arlie's friends and he had the bright green eyes.

"Good morning Auburn." Mommy said. I will always call my mother, Mommy. It's just a thing I love to call her. It makes me feel like I'm not growing up so fast.

"Good morning. What are you doing today?" I sat at the kitchen table and started to play with my curls. I really wanted to dye my hair blonde but Mommy says I should just keep my hair dark.

"I'm going out to get a dress. Dad is coming home this weekend and we're going out on a date the night he comes home." She said with a smile.

"Awh that's cute. When is Daddy gonna be done with the army?"

"I have no idea. Ask him when he comes home. I'm in a hurry so, if you leave the house, make sure everything is locked and turned off. I have my phone if you need me." She gave me a quick hug before walking out the door.

I ate breakfast and got dressed. I've decided I wanted to go to the other hood to see what was going on over there.

I walked out the door and saw Arlie across the street snooping around a car.

"Hi Arlie. It's been a while." I said as I walked up to him.

"Aye Sweet Cheeks, yeah it has been. What have you been up to?" I watched him pop off the tire and a smile appear on his face.

"Nothing much, what are you doing?"

"Some guy's truck, I don't like him but I do like his tires."

"You haven't changed in the past 2 years at all." Well he did change, he looked a lot more different than the last time I saw him. He changed in a good way.

"Nope. You look good though." He smiled before he wheeled the tire around me and into his garage.

"Thank you Arlie. Where is everyone?"

"Javier is with our friend Jay, Lexis and Varo should be home."

"You're not with 'em?"

"Nope. I have to stay home and watch Gabriel even though his ass is old enough to watch himself."

"That's funny, well I'm gonna head to the other hood. You should come by later on."

"I'll try. Bye Sweets." He gave me a quick side hug before I continued my way down the alley.

"Hi Lexis." I said as I ran and gave him a big hug.

"Aye, what are you doin' over here?" He hugged me back.

"I wanted to hang out with you guys today. It's hot and I was thinking we go down to the big river like we did a few weeks ago." I would have gone on my own but I don't remember how to get there.

"Shit, let's go. We'll grab Varo on the way there. Ima grab some towels and we can go." I nodded my head and took a seat on his porch. I saw Joey and Rico walking over to Varo's apartment with a baseball bat and I grew suspicious.

"Um Lexis?" I called.

"What?"

"Rico and Joey are going to Varo's with a baseball bat." I said as I stood up to get a better look.

"Let him handle it. Whatever beef they got, they'll handle it." What? How is he just gonna let 2 guys go over there with a baseball bat?!

I sat back down and waited anxiously. After a few minutes and I heard a few gunshots, out popped Varo.
