Chapter 22

Theo's POV

I knock on Charolette's door. She swings it open, looking at me, Bella and Zane. Bella steps towards her. "Hi Charolette! It's nice to see you again!"

She gets a big smile on her face. "Hi Bella! Who do we have here?" Pointing between myself and Zane.

I stick out my hand to shake hers. "Hi, I'm Theo." She gets a big smile on her face. "Of course you are. I can see why Haley is so infatuated with you. You're a very handsome man."

I grin at her. "This is Zane, my brother-in-law. He is very close with Haley."

She smiles and hugs Bella. "Not that I'm complaining, but why are you guys here?"

All three of us step inside her home. "Charolette, I'm going to get straight to it, why did you change your name? We know your real name is Elizabeth." Zane asks.

She looks shocked. "Wh...what?" She stutters.

I was stunned. What is she hiding?

"I"m certain you are mistaken." She looks at the ground. An indicator that she's lying.

My temper is building. The more she hides the truth, the more time she takes up and time is something I don't have. "Don't waste my time, or lie to me. I need answers now. Haley's life is in danger." I say forcefully.

She starts crying. "This is all my fault."

I stand there with my eyebrows furrowed. I could feel my patience starting to be tested. "Go on." I said, while crossing my arms against my chest.

"I changed my name because of Haley's father. He was a bad man. I had an affair with him and got pregnant. I then realized how evil he was. He never knew about Haley, so I changed my name and ran away from Chicago to New York. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're not the FBI or a police officer. Who are you?"

Zane pulls me to the corner, "hey, it's getting close to dinner time. I need to go check on Haley."

I nod and Zane runs out of the door.

I go back to Charolette, "you're assumption would be correct. Let's say I'm not someone to fuck with or lie to. Who is Haley's father?"

Her chest rises, "Kade Rizzo."

Bella gasps and my eyes widen. "As in the leader of the Rizzo gang?" Bella bites her cheek.

She nods her head and then gasps at the revelation of who I am. "You're him aren't you? Theo Morletti? I've heard about how ruthless and dangerous you are."

I set my hands on hers, "I've fallen hard for your daughter. I love her with every fiber of my body. I would give my life for hers, if it meant to keep her safe. I would never hurt her. But, yes I am Theo Moriletti. I've never killed an innocent person. I'm not like Kade."

She puts her face in her hands and start sobbing, "what the fuck did I get my daughter into?"

I rub her back, "she wouldn't be here, if you hadn't met Kade. For that, I'm thankful. But, if you know anything about Kade, I need to know. I need to find him. He plans to kill Haley."

Haley's POV

I get ready for dinner. I want to look cute, because I need Antonio to take me back to his house, but he will know something is up if I try too hard.

I throw on a medium length black dress, that hugs every curve. Sexy, but still looks like I'm not trying to fuck him.

I hear a knock on my door. I grab my purse and swing it open. Antonio is standing in front of me in his black suit with red tie. Remember, this needs to look like you're getting over Theo.
