Chapter 26

Theo's POV

I sit and jerk from the pain in my ribs. Bella looks down and notices the huge bruises across my rib cage. She touches it, "OW! FUCK BELLA!"

"You have broken ribs! You need to be looked at." She says, as her hands move across my rib cage, examining it.

I grab both of her hands and shove them off of me. "I'm fine."

She stands up and walks away. I lean down, putting my head in my hands - trying to calm myself down.

I hear footsteps and I look up to find Bella and some nurse following her. I'm going to fucking kill my sister.

"This is my brother. I think he has a couple of broken ribs." The nurse eyes my shirtless body.

"I'm taken." I look at her annoyed. Her cheeks flush. She motions me to follow her to an examine room. "No, if you want to treat my wounds, do it here."

She presses her stethoscope to my chest and sides. "Everything sounds fine." She presses on my ribs. The only time I whence from the pain is when she gets close to the bruised area. "Actually he doesn't have broken ribs, they are just severely bruised. You need rest, ice your ribs and no physical activity for four weeks."

She walks away and in comes Zane and Diego.

"Is she okay?" Zane asks.

I shake my head, "I don't know."

I pull Diego towards the door and we walk outside. "Do you have a cigarette?" I ask Diego.

He shakes his head no, "no, Haley made me quit. She went on about how terrible they are for you...blah, blah, blah. She got Bella on board and now I have nothing. Wait? You don't even smoke? Haley would kill you."

I lean against concrete pillar, "well, she's not here, is she?" I spit any Diego. He looks at me with worried eyes.

"Fuck! I'm sorry Diego. I just...I can't lose her. I just got her back. And...you're right I don't smoke. But I feel all of this rage...I'm going to fucking explode."

Diego wraps his arm around my shoulder. "No wonder you look like shit. I can't even imagine what you're going through. If it was Bella I would be a mess too." I shove him off and chuckle.

Zane walks outside and his look says it all, "what's wrong? Is it Haley?" I ask worriedly.

He shakes his head, "Kade is alive and we have him."

I could feel my heart racing. "I'm going to kill him slowly."

Zane's eyes widen, "Theo, he's Haley's Dad. I know you're gunna hate this, but she should at least get to talk to him before."

My breathing was increasing with the thought of him hurting her. "I'll think about it, but I'm not doing it right now. I can't promise I won't rip him apart when I see him."

All three of us walk back into the hospital and sit in the waiting area with Bella. Two hours go by and that fucking doctor hasn't come through that door. "I swear to fucking God, that doctor better walk through that door or I'm going to turn this hospital upside down." I groan.
