Chapter 10 - The Butterfly Effect

My eyes fluttered open from the slumber I went into after a long night in the hospital with a newborn. I smiled at just the mere thought of Kierson. To my surprise I still have yet to be forcefully traveled back to present time. I hope I never have to go back I don't wanna miss a day of my son's life.

Just as I was about to close my pupils and drift back to sleep I realized I wasn't still laying on an uncomfortable hospital recliner. Looking down I noticed my body was wrapped in unfamiliar silk sheets. The mattress moved a little than someone's arm wrapped around my waist and head laid against my shoulder. I looked to see the mystery person's face.

"Sierra?!" I exclaimed scrunching my face up in confusion, I pushed her off me jumping out of the bed. Looking around I realized this was her apartment and that's the bed we've had countless rendezvous in. I searched the room for my phone spotting it on the marvel nightstand.

Just as I suspected the date read June 15th, 2022 I'm back in the fucking present.

But why am I with Sierra? Why after all that would I still cheat on Kiersey?

I gotta get the fuck outta here. I thought scanning the room for my clothes not even being surprise that I was butt ass naked.

The familiar sound disgraced my ears

"No not now!!!" I shouted to no avail I sprinted to Sierra's bathroom but when I opened the door the other side revealed the stupid ass meadow from before.

"Hello Marcus" My guardian angel greets she was sitting on a stoop surrounded by daisies with a long white dress on that flowed to no wind.

I just frowned in return, "Ugh, what do you want now?" I groaned not expecting to see her so soon again

"I'm afraid this visit isn't going to be a pleasant one baby. See, you've chosen to act as God your son wasn't meant to be earth-side. Kierson was meant to protect you and his mother from this side. He was your strongest angel."

"So what are saying?" I replied

"Since you've chosen to change one of God's plans there's something you must see," Ruby stood up walking towards me she urged me to take her hand, I did so in reluctance.

Once our hands touched we teleported to a large coat closet, "Where are we?" I pondered

"Step out and see, but don't bother trying to talk to them or stop anything. They won't see or hear you. You have no control over anything that you're about to see."

Trying not to piss my pants after Ruby's words I slowly stepped out of the closet.

"Wait this is Mrs. Stewart's house," I stated staring at the artwork on the walls of her foyer. The marvel walls were designed with splashes of black in them.

Marcus walked in the kitchen where he heard familiar voices, he made it there to see Mrs. Stewart standing over the stove cooking while conversing with, to Marcus's surprise Kiersey's dad Jason. Making him realize he was about to witness a past event.

"So baby, I just landed a huge merger. Which means we'll finally get to take that trip to the Maldives you been begging about." Jason professed adjusting his tie while sitting at the marble island scrolling through his phone. After getting no response from his wife he looked up. When Val had no reaction from his statement he grew puzzled

"You're awfully quiet, didn't you hear what I just said?" Valerie ignored her husband once again as she stood on the opposite side of the island chopping up onions on the stainless steel cutting board to go with the pot roast she was preparing.
