Marcus

"Ok so that wasn't a complete disaster but where do we go from here?" I asked Lou

"Let's see for starters you're coming back here to meet with Tulving once a week. He's the only one who can talk you through the things your body's doing right now." He responded causing my eyebrows to raise in shock.

"What? Did you not hear what he said in there? This is a illness to him, how is that going to help me."

"Marc he only felt that way till you proved him wrong. Just do it damn," Louis groaned we hopped into the Uber and headed for the airport. "Also don't say anything to Basiago or Stillings. Who knows what they'd do to you if they had proof of your abilities."

"Yes dad" Louis rolled his eyes at my response. I don't need him telling me not to do something that I obviously wouldn't. I know I've been careless and irrational with my choices lately but I know what's at stake.

Our flight home was quick and silent. Both our thoughts were presumably deep enough for a whole day to pass without us realizing. I know my best friend wanted this to be his discovery. He's probably wishing we could trade places.

"Damn today felt like a week. You wanna go get a drink?" Louis asked I shook my head side to side.

"Rain check? Myles is in town, we already made plans." I said yawning in the process.

"Oh yeah send him my best" we embraced in a quick bro hug and went our separate ways.

"Myles!" I yelled walking in the house, sitting my keys down.

"In here!" He replied from the living room

I headed in that direction. He was sitting on the sofa in my robe. Eyes clued to the television with a bowl of popcorn in one hand and beer in the other.

"I see you've helped yourself to my clothes and groceries." I removed my jacket, then plopped down beside him

"Negative, you're such a horrible host to the guest in your home. There wasn't even a stick of butter in your fridge. Nigga you didn't even have a pack of noodles in your cabinets."

I laughed, "I haven't gone grocery shopping in years. That was Kiersey's thing, my bad, how'd your talk with Tamara go?"

"It went well, there was a lot of healing. We both took accountability for our parts. Ultimately we were able to let things go. I never thought I'd be at that place with her."

"Wow, I'm both proud and envious of you bro."

"Thanks but don't think I forgot about your little lawsuit this morning."

"Look I would like for you to represent me. Yet this is a dangerous man. And I can't tell you everything right now, I will eventually."

Myles sighed tilting his head back looking towards the ceiling. "Fuck, Marcus what have you gotten into?"

Hell if I fully know, but there's no time to sit and discuss it. Come tomorrow I'm traveling and this time I'm changing things.
