"Why are you in here?" I shake my head at her.

"I feel like this is where I belong, if I spent another minute in that house I would have gone actually insane," she looks down at her lap.

"But you're my mom, your suppose to be driven insane by Zach and I," I tell her.

"I guess," she laughs.

"Please come home, this isn't where you belong," I say.

I kiss her on the forehead before leaving. I don't want this ruining my weekend. My phone vibrates in my pocket twice. I slid it out and see I got a text message from Marcus.

'Excited for tonight? Bc I am :)'

-

"I thought you said we were going out to dinner," I furrow my eyebrows at Marcus.

"I changed my mind," he shrugs and sets his hands down on his trousers.

"Yeah at the last minute," I add.

"If I knew this was gonna happen I wouldn't have wore this dress, or even came," I say crossing my arms over my chest. The maroon dress I'm wearing is just above my knees, it's not too tight or too short. It's perfect I'm just not comfortable wearing it on a beach at ten at night.

"Aw no don't say that," he pouts.

"Why?" I lift an eyebrow.

"Because then I would have spent all that money on a limousine for nothing," he explains.

I sigh and stare out at the glistening ocean. It's really beautiful. I would die to live in a beach house and be able to sit and enjoy staring out at the ocean every morning.

"Savanna," Marcus sets a hand on my thigh.

I pull back at his remark and look up at him. His gesture was comforting but I didn't feel like being touched right now.

"What?" I groan.

"How's your mom?" He inquires.

"She thinks she belongs in that psychiatric center place," I sigh.

"I'm sorry," he pulls me in for a hug.

I don't let go until a thought pops up into my brain. I slip out of his grasp and grab a rock that sits aside my legs.

"Marcus," I say before getting up.

"What?" he asks.

"Have you ever skipped rocks before?" I smirk.

"Skipped what?" he shakes his head looking confused and stands up.

"You've never skipped rocks before?" I ask and laugh at him, throwing a rock at him.

He catches it like it's nothing "no," he replies bluntly.

"You're so lame," I smile cheekily.

"So are you," he grins.

-

"So that was it?" Audrey asks slamming her locker shut.

"Yeah, we sat on the beach by the fire and then skipped rocks," I answer bluntly.

It was sadly, well Monday, and another day of school. Audrey started shooting me with questions as soon as I walked into school this morning. I didn't mine answering them I was just so damn tired.

"He didn't even take you out for dinner?" she questions seeming appalled.

"Nope," I shake my head and grin.

"You guys are lame," she laughs.

I give her a small shove and laugh and she repeats the same action. We walk down the hall laughing until I take notice that a group of freshmen are staring at us not too far away from us.

"Do you mind?" I ask them.

They roll their eyes at us before moving along. I remember when I was that uptight and prissy.

"Freshmen, always a pain in my ass," Audrey shakes her head.

I nod focusing on rolling my tye-dye shirt sleeves up twice before focusing back on Baylie. I recently for the first time ever, tye-dyed a few shirts. Weird, I know but I live a very sheltered life so I don't do very much.

"You're such a dork," Audrey laughs.

"Why do you think that?" I squint at her.

"You roll up your tee shirt sleeves."

"It bothers me if I don't," I shrug.

She stops in front of room 203. Her trig class with Miss Harmon who's a real bitch.

"Well I'll see you after class, yeah?" Audrey says.

"Yeah," I nod before walking off to my own class.

"That color really suits you," I hear a voice call from behind me.

I turn around to see Marcus smiling at me. He has his phone out and Jake is leaning up against a locker next to him, who's paying no attention whatsoever.

"Hi," I smile.

"How's your day?" he asks.

"Fine, yours?"

"Great," he says examining what I assume is a dog tag in his hand.

"So anything you want to ask me?" I look around the hallway which is beginning to empty out.

"Nope expect that I think you look really good today, I'll see you later," he smiles.

I wave to him before heading to class with the biggest smile on my face.
