He turns to me and gets closer and closer until I finally realize he's hugging me.
"Thank you for listening," I say.
"I'll always be here," he tells me.
"I thought no one cared," I openly admit.
"I do."

"I thought no one cared," I openly admit.
"I do."
I pull away and raise an eyebrow at him.
"Really?" I ask.
He nods.
"Oh," I say.

Marcus' POV
-
"Oh," she says.
God she looks so beautiful.
"What do you mean by oh?" I ask really curious all of a sudden.
"Well it's like, no one notices your tears, no one notices your sadness, no one notices your pain but everybody and when I say everybody I mean everybody, notices your mistakes," she replies in a quiet voice.
"Savanna, there's gonna be people who put you down and you will feel like no one cares or notices, but there are people who notice and care. I am one of those people," I assure her.
She doesn't say anything and stares out at the lake. She's right about the scenery, it's gorgeous, like her.
"Aren't you gonna say something?" I inquire.
She shakes her head and continues staring. Its nice to be here with her. I'm gonna regret ditching school later but that doesn't matter right now. I'm here and she's here and that's all that matters right now. I never thought hanging out with her would be so interesting.
I have to admit I use to think Savanna was a bitch back in seventh grade. I use to hate her. She use to always beat me in practice fights at the MMA place we go to. I use to hate losing to a girl, well losing to her. I use to hate a lot of things.
After my dad passed in freshman year, I realized a few things. I was growing up and life is too short to be miserable and hateful. I also started noticing how beautiful Savanna is. Every little flaw and perk of what made her was imperfectly perfect.
I don't think I will ever fancy a girl as much as I fancy her. I never thought she would talk to me, besides practice. She seems too good, for me at least. But she noticed me more and we talked little here and there. Now here we are.
"Hey Savanna," I say.
"Yea?" she turns her head to me. Her brilliant blue eyes stare at me. If looks could kill I would be dead by now.
"Will you go to Prom Night with me?" I manage to blurt out.
Once the words roll out of my mouth I realize I can't take them back. Somehow I managed to build up enough courage to finally ask her or at least my thoughts did. The smirk on her face tells me she's amused.
"Yes, Marcus, I will," she grins.
My eyebrows knit together in disbelief. Is she serious? She nods as if she can read my mind.
I can't believe this is actually happening. Here I am with her and I just asked her to prom and she said yes! Never in a million years would I think that would actually come true.
"Do you want to get going?" she asks.
I nod and we both get up. We exit the beach through the boardwalk. We climb quickly into her car before any police walk up to us asking questions why we're here and not at school.
She turns up the radio a little bit and taps her fingers on the steering wheel as she drives. Once we reach a red light she runs her fingers through her hair and turns to me.
"That was nice Marcus," she says.
She turns back to the road and starts driving up again.
"What was?" I ask and mentally I smack myself at once.
A nice time at the beach, duh you bloke, my subconscious tells me. I roll my eyes at him and stare out the window.
"You know the beach," she says.
I turn to look at her. Her eyes wander the road and she's smiling. Must be thinking.
"You wanna get some frozen yogurt?" she asks.
"Sure," I answer looking back out the window.
She continues smiling. After awhile we both quietly sing along to the radio. If only this moment could last forever.

Savanna's POV
-
"I had a nice time Marcus," I turn to him.
"Me too," he says.
"I'll see you on Monday," I tell him as he gets out of my car.
I pull out of his driveway quickly speeding down the road. I cannot wait to get home. I had a really nice time with Marcus but I'm just so exhausted and all I want to do is sleep.
-
"I'm home," I announce as I walk through the door untying my Converse.
No reply. I guess no ones home. I hear pads of feet running into the hall. I look up to see Athena trotting towards me.
"Athena!" I say cheerfully.
She barks and sets her head down in my lap.
"Your such a spoiled German Shepherd," I tease her.
She playfully growls and I laugh at her response. I pet her a few times before standing up. I run upstairs with Athena following me.
When I get into my room I set my bag down on my desk. Athena curls up on her cushion in the corner. I change into loose shorts before sitting down on my bed and pulling out my phone.
11:43.
I got home earlier than I expected. School ends in a hour so if my mum comes home early I'll tell her I got sick. She doesn't know I ditch on Fridays.
I let out a yawn and stretch. Athena's ear perk up at my remark. I smile at her before laying down. I scroll through Twitter and Tumblr for awhile before I finally crash.
