This photo I've added for this chapter is of Penelope.
At breakfast, everyone says happy birthday to Ryan, all except me. Danny said happy birthday to Ryan, but it wasn't all that nice. Danny takes a seat beside me and grabs my hand. Ryan looks like he's had an awful night.
"To 35 years of this idiot." Zach toasts. Clinking of glasses fills the room. I'd do it too, but I don't have a drink. Quite honestly, I hate him right now, Ryan that is. Zach is still awesome. I pick at my waffle, not feeling like eating. The sight of Ryan makes me sick. I get up and go to washroom. Deep breath, calm down. I just want to go home, this has been hell.
"Danny, I'm going home." I say as I sit back down.
"Wait! Don't go!" Ryan says.
"Happy Birthday, I left your gift on your bed." I grab my bag and go back to the bus. I'm sick of crying. Rusty Halo plays on my phone and I pick up to Danny.
"Are you okay? I'm coming back. How are you getting home?"
"I'm not okay. I'm taking the train from Boston to Toronto. Have fun on the rest of your trip, I don't know when I'll see you again." Then I think back to when Danny & I were at my house, he said he wanted to go away with me for the month of July.
"I want to go to Disney with you soon." Danny blurts out. "Please don't leave without saying goodbye. Please let me come see you. I'm here, standing outside the door."
"Come in, it's your bus." I hang up and shove my phone in my purse. "If you find anything else, can you take it with you?" I stand in front of Danny with all of my things.
"You pack fast." A tear rolls down his cheek.
"I was packed yesterday." I start to cry. He kisses me with everything he's got.
"I'll miss you."
"I want to spend July with you."
"I'll come to your house after the tour ends, which is three days."
"Got it." I hail a cab, buy a train ticket and get on the train. "Finally home." I sigh when I get in my door. Nothing is different than what I left it as. The only thing different is the state I'm in. I call my best friend Penelope and tell her to get over here.
"Hey Brie!" She says and gives me a hug. I let out a sob. "What's wrong?"
"How do I start?" I wipe up the tears but it doesn't really help. We sit on the couch together. "Ryan is with another woman and has been for awhile and they're having a baby."
"No way! Oh my god! How could he do that to you?"
"Danny & I have something going on, I don't know if we're dating or what." I start to cry when I think of how I had to leave Danny. "I don't know what's happening."
"Well it's Danny O'Donoghue! He's your best option! He's so-"
"Save it! I know he's cute and his accent is dreamy." I stifle a laugh. "But I still don't understand why Ryan did that, he doesn't seem like that kind of guy."
"Whatever, it's Danny O'Donoghue, why would you worry about Ryan?" Did I forget to mention that Penelope loves The Script?
"Because Ryan was a sweet guy."
"Was. Do you think I could get with Glen?"
"No!"
Penelope laughs. "I'm just kidding."
"Sure you are." I've stopped crying, that's why I called Penelope, I knew she could stop the tears. We switch over to everything cute Dan did over the tour. We look at the pictures I took of everywhere we went, messing around backstage too. We stop at a video of Danny explaining what was happening during this tour.
"So was he always drunk over this tour?"
"Pretty much." We laugh. I've realized that crying over Ryan is stupid because we didn't have it anymore. We weren't in love. Now I'm free, free to love Danny. "I miss my Dan. I'mma call him, give me a minute." I dial his number and take it to the kitchen. "Hey Danny, I arrived safely in Toronto."
"Great! How are you feeling?" His accent is so soothing right now.
"Better, not being around him certainly helped." Him, meaning Ryan. I love how much Danny cares about me.
"Yeah, true. I miss ya already."
"I miss you too Danny. How are you holding up there?"
"Fine, just fine. Your gift made Ryan cry." I made Ryan a photo album with pockets filled with letters that go with the pictures and souvenirs from places we went together. "He said that he's such an idiot for letting you go, I couldn't help but stand there and smile to myself." I can see it though. God that's funny! " 'Cause I'm all yours sweetheart. Start planning our trip! I want you distracted, I want you looking forward to something. Money isn't such a big problem." I think I might just do that.
"Okay, I'll start that."
"I have to go, I love you so much Sabrina."
"I love you too Danny." I hang up and grab my laptop, checking into Disney. I'm assuming we want to go July 10th, that gives Danny time to meet up with family in Dublin and pack. I've never been to Dublin before, I mean, I've been to Manchester, Liverpool, Exeter (Devon) and London, but that's England. I hope he takes me. I call him back quickly.
"I know you said you had to go but do you want me to book a flight for you back to Dublin?"
"Yeah, July 1st. I can do anything after two in the afternoon because I'm coming from New York to Toronto, that is if you wanted to come to Dublin with me.I can do July 2nd too. If not, from JFK after ten in the morning."
"Okay! I'd love to come with you if you want me to! I can go to JFK with you. I'm thinking that maybe I might swing by for the last night in New York anyway because I want to celebrate the last day of the first leg."
"Yeah! That would be great! I'll pay for all of your plane tickets."
"Danny, it's fine."
"No, I will." He starts to yell over drums.
"Anyway, do you want to fly to Florida after that?"
"Yes, we'll book that one in Dublin."
"That's all I need you for! I need you here with me for Disney, so I'll just look into things." I hang up.
"I wanted to meet Danny! He's like my idol!" Penelope complains.
"Why would you idolize a man like him? I'll Skype him tonight then. Warning you though, he won't give you the time of day after concerts. He's always exhausted. Unless he's had a beer, then he's not all that grumpy."
"Great, why can't you do it now?"
"Sound check. I might be able to get him after sound check."
