Chapter 15. Page. 417
Thursday December 15-
11 days Until Christmas
I woke up hearing a strange banging noise coming from downstairs. I quietly went down to check the locks on the doors, grabbing a glass of water on my way back up. As I reentered my bedroom, a figure shut the door behind me, causing me to spin around, dropping my fresh glass of water. Glass shattered on my wooden floors as the figure charged at me, tackling me to the ground. I screamed in fear as we thrashed around my room, fighting the other for dominance. My dressers and chairs ended up tipped over. Books, clothes, and papers were scattered around my room. Shards of glass and splinters of broken wood cut through my skin, causing me bleed heavily. I screamed for help only to be met with hopeless screams behind my bedroom door. The entire time, only two other figures were visible. One was of a young girl, hidden within the shadows of my closet, watching everything unfold from the darkness. The other had glowing purple eyes. The figure attacking me had be pinned to the ground. He winded his fist back, sending it flying toward my face.

I woke up a couple hours later with a gasp, not even seeing sunlight peaking through my window. I groaned, angry that my body refused to sleep a bit longer—despite the nightmare. Part of me had grown tired of the nightmares. Whether they actually meant something or not or were real or not, I was sick of being in these terrible situations. Still, I forced myself up, dragging myself to the bathroom as I turned on the shower. Memories of the previous hours had flashed into my mind as the steaming water hit my bare skin. I winced for a second, letting the warm water increase the blood flow throughout my body, waking me up a bit in a more comfortable manner than cold water. I took my time getting ready, seeing a text from Demi around six in the morning. I told her I was ready when she was, gathering all the materials I needed for the day and stuffing them into my backpack.
Glam was already in the kitchen as I walked down the stairs once again. She smiled brightly at me, the smile disappearing as she noticed my attire. "What hell are you wearing?" She asked, momentarily breaking character as she looked me up and down. I studied my own clothes, furrowing my eyebrows as I adjusted the strap of my backpack on my shoulder. "Something comfy," I said tugging on my sweatpants. "Go change," she ordered, pointing toward the stairs. I threw my hands up in wonder, not understanding the issue. "Why?" I questioned. "Don't you sas me, little girl. You are too beautiful to wear such.. tragic clothing," she complained, placing a horrified hand over her mouth. I sighed. "Sorry, Glam," I said, dropping my backpack on the table. A knock erupted from the door, as I turned to go back up the stairs. "I'll be back. Could you get that?" I asked as I ran up the stairs, not waiting for an answer.

A few minutes later I walked back to the kitchen wearing a simple red strapless dress with a black scarf and matching black head band decorated with a single red rose in my still damp hair. I added a little extra mascara and blush to bring life to my face, accenting my lips with a bit of brown lip liner and lipgloss. "Alright, is this better?" I asked as I entered the kitchen, struggling to slip on my black leather boots. Unexpectedly, I found myself seeing Jay having a cup of coffee with my grandmother. "Much better, darling," she said with a smile. I zipped my boot up, smoothing the slightly flowing skirt of my dress. "You look beautiful," Jay complimented, lifting his mug in the form of a quick salute. "Thanks," I replied, grabbing a mug from the cabinet. "What brings you here this early?" I asked, pouring myself a cup of coffee. Glam brought over the cream and sugar, placing a spoon next to the mug on top of a napkin. I used the materials in front of me to assemble my coffee, taking a sip the moment I was done. "I was in the neighborhood," he finally joked as if waiting for me to consume my caffeine before he answered. I nodded with sympathetic laugh at his joke. "Funny. You coming with me, Demi, and Ciggy to—school early?" I asked, covering up the part about the secret lab. Jay nodded. "Yeah—wanted to get an extra study session in before my test," He replied. Glam pretended not to listen as she prepped breakfast for the rest of my siblings. I simply nodded, avoiding a scene in front of her. There was no need for a lecture about how to treat a houseguest. "Cool. Will Minji be joining us?" I asked. He shook his head. "Nah. She wanted to sleep in since she got in late last night. Which is better for me anyway. I took your advice and I have it all planned," Jay said with an accomplished smile. I shot a half smile back with a short nod. "That's great," I said, taking a long swig of my coffee.
