My mom had gotten mad at me for hanging out with the wrong crowd so she kicked me out and now I'm staying over at my best friend's house...

~

"Thank you so much Mrs. Key."

"No problem! Your family to us! Devan will be home soon so don't worry!" said Mrs. Key smiling.

"It's just um I haven't really told Dev that I'm staying here for a while."

"Oh. I bet he'll be fine with it. Now I have to go wash clothes make yourself at home!" said Mrs. Key leaving.

~

I sat on the living room couch watching TV when Devan and Collins go through the front door.

"Hey (y/n)! Wait (y/n)?" said Devan returning to the living room.

I got up and hugged Devan, "Yeah... I'll explain later. But I'm staying over at your house!"

"Oh my god! This will be so lit," said Devan hugging me.

~

It's been weeks since my mom had kicked me out and I was still living in the Key's household.

I sat next to Devan as we eat pancakes for breakfast.

"So Dev how's it like living with your best friend in the world?"

"Eh could be better." said Devan laughing, "Just kidding!"

I played punched him and Anne came into the room.

"Kids behave!" said Anne while smiling.

"Sorry mom!" said Devan tickling me

I gasped for air as my reflexes slapped Devan hard across the face.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it."

I softly ran my hands over his cheek and I cupped his face, admiring it.

"It's fine if you stare at it all day," said Devan smirking.

"I'm guessing you're fine," I said with a wink.

"Yep! Hey want to go to the mall later?" asked Devan

"Sure."

~

We walked the mall looking for a place to buy random stuff when a guy stopped us.

"Hey so I saw you and you're like really pretty... Can I get your number?" asked the hot guy

"Uh- "

"She's my girlfriend so you can forget it and leave," said Devan grabbing my hand.

"Oh, sorry dude! Have a good day." said the hot guy leaving.

"Um? Devan, we're not dating! I could've gotten a boo."

"No you're mine," said Devan quietly

"Devan speak up!"

"I said I like you and I want to be your boyfriend!" said Devan

I turned red and thought about what to say back.

"I-I... I like you too Devan. I just didn't know if you would like me back so I never really showed it."

"It's just like ever since your mom kicked you out and you living with us made me realize I want you more than just my best friend," said Devan

"Me too. So maybe wanna grab a burger and call it a date?"

"Sure thing! Let's go," said Devan while grabbing my hand.
