You know the names of our young adventurers, the danger coming their way as well as how they survive it. However you do not know who they are or where their path will lead, so lets start with explaining who they are. We find our young adventurers in the village of Alverton, well before it got raided anyways. It's not that big, but it's not tiny either, the population is decent sized, and it looked rather appealing. The nearby river is nice and clean that led to a pond full of fish, while the forest is full of a variety of plants and wildlife. You may find it hard to believe but the trio have only recently became friends and are already willing to fight for one another at the risk of their own life. They all have a few things in common which made them become good friends quickly and bonds them, a few of these things are their competitiveness, their sense of humor, that they never fit in with the others from their village, and lastly their devotion to those they care for. The way they met was rather unusual and somehow a friendship strangely formed from there.

Dominic was always the quiet type, which came from being not so good at socializing with others, he felt awkward when doing so. If he was around family or people he knew then he felt comfortable to open up and be talkative. None the less the lack of socializing with others wasn't really a bother to him as he preferred getting lost in books. He liked to read many things, mainly books in the way of magic and the history of the world, as well as books based on the adventures of heroes though he was convinced a lot of them were at least slightly exaggerated. He wasn't very picky on where he chose to read, he would read inside, outside, really anywhere as long as it was quiet and preferably had a nice view so he could relax better. Since the village didn't have many books or variety, he would have to wait for merchants to stop by with new books. On occasion he would accompany the Alverton's traders to Idradale which was a few days travel, just so he could go to their library as well as their shops. Idradale isn't just the capital of the territory, but it's also a kingdom and owner of the territory. As a person Dominic is kind, and helpful, always helping out where he can, when he can. He often helped his siblings with advice or whatever they needed, caring about their well-being. During the summers he enjoyed swimming in the river on the hot days, then reading in the forest at night while it was cool and the forest was pretty under the moonlight. He doesn't really have any notable features about his appearance, curly dark hair, brown eyes, average build and height, though he's fairly attractive.

Maximus has always had trouble fitting in while growing up since he was taller and tougher than the others, which caused him to intimidate them without even trying to. Which didn't really give him the chance to make friends since people his age wanted to avoid him. Maximus decided that he should focus on joining the village guard, not that it was a big deal since there was only a few guards, and they weren't even that skilled. The training that came with it was mainly how to handle a sword rather than to fight with one, as well as basic wrestling skills to help detain and immobilized their target. As for his other spare time he liked to go hunting, truthfully he was lousy at tracking and hiding his own tracks. He's not a good shot either but he was able to hit his target often enough to make it worthwhile, he's convinced that he just gets lucky, perhaps that's all it is, but that doesn't keep him from trying to improve. He mainly hunts squirrels or rabbits among other small things, the deer usually hear him and get away. He's also a fan of sports and gets involved with them whenever he can but doesn't get invited to them, not from being bad, just the whole avoiding thing along with him giving an unfair advantage. Only thing of note for his appearance is his light brown hair, greenish eyes, then as said before him being tougher and bigger build.

The last of the trio is Lela. She has always been the silent type, practically invisible. She could walk through the middle of town and you wouldn't notice her unless you knew her. She's rather short and light weighted so her footsteps are silent, making her more quiet. These things make it hard for her to make friends, she also doesn't really like people anyways, finding most of them annoying. She enjoys the quiet life though and likes that she is able to know everything about everyone yet no one knows a single thing about her. She spends her time doing various things just to fill her day to avoid being at home, due to her rough home life. That's not the only reason she's keeps herself busy, she is also doing it to keep herself active, she can never have an idle mind for to long, her mind always has to do something or needs to focus on something, or else she feels like exploding. She often finds herself wandering around thinking about many different things such as stuff she's learned that day. She's always liked nature, it was quiet, peaceful and nice unlike most people in her opinion, she also enjoys sitting up in the trees looking at the world around her as well as below her, pondering things while she does. She is rather beautiful, light blonde hair that goes a little past her shoulders, sky blue eyes, as brought up before she is also short and light.

Not to many weeks before the night of the orc raid, it was a fresh night with a lovely breeze, Maximus thought it was a good night to go hunting, so off he went and started following some tracks. After some time he found what he was looking for, his prey was a little ways off and with the dark it made it so he couldn't see it to well, but he could see part of it's outline which was a clear enough of a shot to him. He got himself situated to fire, he figured he'd miss but you can only improve by not giving up, so he knocked his arrow, pulled back his bow string and let the arrow fly, he knew he actually hit his target when he heard a thud sound! He was excited and instantly started to run over to see his kill as soon as he heard the thud but stopped after just a few feet when he heard a male voice shriek in fear. Maximus cautiously continued over and realized he had almost shot Dominic in the face, but luckily the arrow didn't go through the book and it just stuck halfway through it. Dominic looked up at Maximus and shouted "You almost killed me, you lunatic!" Maximus felt guilty and responded "I'm sorry but you shouldn't have been out in the middle of the forest at night!" Dominic looked at the arrow then at Maximus "You should hunt when you can see you blind fool!" and so Maximus and Dominic began having a loud argument, mostly full of nonsense and petty insults, Dominic bringing up that he was almost murdered every other response he gave. Lela was up in a tree close by. She had been there for hours, needing to get away from home and be alone with her thoughts, she had seen Dominic go and sit close by though he didn't know she was there, but since he was being quiet and reading she chose to ignore that he was there, up until him and Maximus started arguing which interrupted her thoughts, listening to them argue was entertaining at first but then it got annoying after hearing Dominic say he was almost killed for the thirteenth time. She tossed an acorn at each of them and dropped from the tree saying "You two are annoying, and loud." They looked at her slightly frightened since they had no idea she was there. Dominic raised his book to her with the arrow sticking through it still "Did you not see him try to kill me?" Maximus pulled the arrow out and replied "I thought you were a deer or something!" Dominic yelled "Do you not know the difference between deers and humans? Or shoe prints compared to animal hooves or feet? Are you really all brawn and no brain?" Then was going on and on about it being a new book that he just spent money on and now it has a hole through the center of it and that made them begin arguing even more, Dominic even hit Maximus in the arm with his book once. Lela shouted at them shortly into their arguing "Quiet! You guys are arguing like lovers or something" they both looked at her and began yelling about not liking guys and if they did it wouldn't be someone like the other. Lela just shook her head and said "I'm not judging, I don't have any issues with you two being lovers." Which only encouraged the arguing, but then nearly half an hour later they began laughing and making jokes about each other and that's how their friendship started.

They started meeting up every night and hanging out, eventually becoming good friends, then they began to meet up during the day doing activities together. Their friendship was growing quickly, although they only had a few weeks together at most then the night came when the orcs attacked. Well you know what happens that night so let's continue with their story shall we?
