Chapter 4: "Yuck I said YOLO yuck."

☪Lydia's pov☪

"Alight guys, show us what you got." I kept my poker face on while I said that, having to keep this professional.

The boys are going to play an acoustic song as well as a regular song. So we can see how they sound both ways. Luke and I haven't spoken since we hung out, but that's alright, we both had a lot to do.

In a way I hope the boys are good, they seem really cool and chill. They also seem like the type of guys you want to have a laugh with. Plus Michael's hair is pretty fabulous.

We have a camera set up to record them, that way we can really pin point their strengths and weaknesses when performing.

Ashton the drummer smiled and introduced the acoustic song which was, Heartbreak Girl.

I was left grinning the whole time during their song, they seem to be very talented boys.

"That was great guys, now what song will you be playing?"

Luke smiled, "This ones called Try Hard." They ran through the song and I was impressed. They had an amazing stage presence, they were a bit shy but that's a given for a new band.

The boys were smiling and high-fiving each other, proud of their performance. I nudged Matt, "Remember when that was us?" He nodded, "Yes, always stoked to play, whether it was 5 people or 5000 people."

Jake smiled at the boys, "Thanks for coming, we'll give you a call."

The boys smiled and started to pack up their stuff, I grabbed my keys and phone and got up to leave.

"Bye guys, I'm gonna go write and such." The guys nodded and I made my way out the door.

"Hey! Lydia!" I turned and saw the boy with the fabulous hair, Michael. "Oh hey, you're Michael right?" He nodded. He noticeably gulped, seeming nervous. "I just wanted to say I think your band's awesome and we should play video games together sometime." A grin spread across my face, "First of all, thank you so much, and I think your band is pretty great too. And second of all, hell yeah. I would love to play video games sometime." We chatted for a few more minutes, took selfies, cause YOLO right? Yuck, I said YOLO, yuck.

I am currently on my way home to my apartment, nothing special.

I started to mumble a tune, which led to mumbling lyrics,

"Well, I'm not gonna lie.

How can I put this easy?

I try and try but what for, just to please you?

It's true, you're wasting my time."

I typed out the lyrics on my phone and took out my keys, now being very close to my apartment.

After a few hours of song writing my phone began to ring, I looked at it and saw it was Cam.

I picked up the phone and spoke into it, "Hey what's up?"

"Hi, so can you call the band guys?" I pulled a confused face.

"Why?" Cam sighed.

"So you can tell them they're coming on tour with us." I gasped.

"Why didn't I get a say in this?"

"Because you clearly liked them, you were smiling the whole time and mumbling along to the words. Even when you didn't know them."

A laugh escaped my mouth, "Yeah I guess. What's the number?" Cam gave me their number and I smiled in anticipation.

The phone rang twice and then it picked up. I heard the boy I remember to be Ashton speak, "Hello?" I smirked a bit, deciding to freak them out.

"Hello, we are calling to inform you that you are no longer able to play local shows in the city of Sydney." I said in a formal voice that sounds nothing like me. I heard talking in the background, "What? Why?" I heard him yell at Luke in the background, "Luke what'd you do?!" I could now tell that the call was on speaker phone on their end because I could hear them bickering. I suppressed a giggle.

"Yes it is rather bittersweet." When I said that my voice cracked from trying to hold back the appending laughter. As soon as I heard the sound of my voice it opened the flood gates, and my laughter boomed through the phone. I could hear the boys' confusion on the other end, that is until Luke spoke up.

"Lydia is that you?" I composed myself and replied, "Yes."

"What did you mean by us not being able to play local shows?" I grinned.

"It means that you guys are coming on tour with us." I heard roars of content from the boys and I laughed.

"Oh my god, thank you so much!" Calum spoke up.

"I'll have my manager speak with you to fill you in on all the details."

With that I ended the call and sat there with a smile on my face.
