☪Lydia's pov☪
My heart dropped as I heard the words come out of Mike's mouth.
My whole world seemingly shattering around me, I was left immobile as I was sucked back into a memory.
••
I gave my mom and dad a hug before looking up at them with my little green eyes, slightly clouded over with tears. "Mommy, Daddy why do you have to leave?"
My mom gave me a sympathetic look, "Daddy has to go on a business trip and I have to go with him. But I promise we'll be back before you know it." A small smile tugged at my lips as my mom hugged me again whispering soothing words into my ear.
My parents walked out of the house and climbed into their car, pulling out of the driveway. I ran over to my aunt that was looking after me while they were gone. She lifted me up into a hug and told me it was okay, that they will be back in no time. But she was wrong.
In 2 days time there were police officers at our door delivering the heart breaking news, my parents were in a car crash, hit head on by a semi. My aunt covered her mouth in shock, she soon let out a loud wail and I came running to her. Completely oblivious to the news given.
The police gave me a sympathetic look, saying that they will give more information another time.
I turned towards my aunt that was sitting on the ground with tears trailing down her cheeks, I sat beside her and she choked out the news. Soon I was joining her in the never ending stream of tears.
••
My breath caught in my throat and I began hyperventilating. I ran into the bathroom so no one could see me.
I locked the door, sitting down and taking deep breaths. Pushing the memories into the back of my mind. I can't break down.
When my breathing started to return to normal and the memories stopped coming, I looked in the mirror. My eyes were puffy from the few tears that escaped and my face was flushed from my breathing. I wet a cloth and washed my face making it look like my face my red from it.
I got out if the bathroom to see the 5 sauce guys sitting in the front lounge, looking a little shaking up, but ultimately okay.
A small smile pulled onto my face, feeling relieved that they were okay.
I ran up to the nearest member to me and hugged him with all that I had, and that person happened to be Luke.
"Thank god you're all okay." The boys looked confused, which is understandable considering I barely knew them. I continued hugging Luke and he gave me a squeeze, "Hey it's okay, we're okay." He whispered. The rest of the guys latched onto us in a group hug.
We all let go and Luke and I awkwardly laughed.
"What about the bus driver and the other driver?"
Jake looked at me, "They both had some injuries and were sent to the hospital, but they will live." I nodded. Over joyed that no one was hurt.
••
After everyone calmed down we decided to call it a night and go to bed. Luckily we had enough bunks for everyone so no one has to share.
I'm the only one up, I'm in the back lounge playing Xbox, trying to distract myself. I smiled in victory as I killed a boss in Dark Souls. I paused the game and headed to the little kitchen in the bus, I started to walk unsteadily and my vision started to blur.
My hand reached out and I held myself up by the wall, whoa.
I attempted to move again, only to be hit by another dizzy spell, and I fell to the ground.
"For fück's sake!" I cradled my head in my hands groaning.
"Oh shït are you okay?" I looked up from my position on the floor seeing a confused and concerned Michael standing there.
I have him a small smile, "Yeah I'm fine." I pushed myself up from the floor, only to fall once again.
Michael shook his head, "I don't think you're fine." He reached down and helped me up. I thanked him and winced, my head throbbing.
"So now that I know you're not fine, tell me what's wrong." I sighed.
"I'm sleep deprived." He made an 'o' shape with his mouth.
"Then you should get some sleep missy."
I frowned, "I can't," Michael quirked his eyebrow. And I elaborated, "I haven't been able to sleep properly for years now. I've tried almost everything, I can't be helped."
He offered a small smile. "I have trouble sleeping too. Obviously it isn't as bad as you but yeah..." He shifted awkwardly, playing with his sleeves. "I could, uh, like l-lay with you until you fall asleep? If you want- I sound creepy, sorry for asking." (A/N I have no idea if he actually does but let's just pretend. :p)
Michael quickly turned to walk away, and I grabbed his wrist to stop him, "Hey it wasn't creepy, it was one of the nicest things anyone could have offered. So if you honestly want to then yeah I'd really appreciate it."
A large smile spread over his face and a light tinge of red spread across his cheeks. "Yeah so do you wanna go now or...?"
I still wanted to play more Xbox so I grinned, "Hey, do you wanna play video games?" His eyes lit up and he nodded vigorously.
We were playing Dead Island and it was Michael's turn playing, I had grabbed a blanket ahead of time and was all cuddled up. My eyes started drooping and last thing I remember was leaning against Michael before falling asleep.
Just to clear things up, I'm sorry if this seems really sudden and a mood changer. But this is how Lydia's past is like, she doesn't like to talk about it, she doesn't even like to think about it. So that's why you don't really find out about it until now.
Anywhore, next chapter will be more happy and such. c:
