She had not actually left the jungle. She had just leaped into a tree.
"I can't do this. He's so much more than what my people deserve. I can't drag him into this mess."
She paced back and forth on the branches above the river."I've made up my mind. I'm not going back across the mountains ever again." She said. "If Malachite wants me, he'll do it on his own not by my father's stupid laws. But where will I sleep? Oh hopefully someone will be kind enough to lend me shelter here."
She heard steps and and looked over the branch and towards the stream and what she saw made her turn her head away. That look in Malachite's eyes towards Joy told Ora Malachite may have already found his mate. Nothing could beat that look of his at Joy. She was too late. Nature had beat her to him.
