chapter seven

When Alec woke up in the morning, he felt as though someone had scrambled his brain. Hangovers were never nice, but this one was horrendous. He groaned, putting a hand up to his head, rolling onto his back. He saw that Jace was still sound asleep, snoring slightly, as per usual.

Alec got up, stretched his arms out, and yawned. He began to remember the the events of last night slowly, blushing as he remembered what happened between him and Magnus. They were really close to having sex, and Alec couldn't even imagine how mortified he would feel right now if they did.

He was glad that Magnus finally expressed his feelings, although Alec feared that when he was sober he would back off slightly. Alec picked up his phone, smiling as he saw a text from Magnus, sent 30 minutes ago. It said that he remembered last night and he was glad that it happened, asking if they could meet up later to talk about it. Alec texted back quickly, saying that would be nice with a ':)'.

 "Why are you smiling like an idiot?" Jace smirked, sitting up, obviously awake now. Jace looked at him harder, his eyes almost bulging out of his head, "Holy shit, when did that happen?" Alec looked confused as to what he was talking about, Jace continuing to laugh. Alec rushed to the mirror, his eyes widening in horror at what he saw.

So. Many. Hickeys. Alec was glad that they didn't run into their parents last night; he couldn't imagine what they would say. "Fuck," Alec said, touching them lightly, not realising that Magnus had done that last night. Jace said, "Are you gonna tell me who gave them to you, or?"

Alec sighed, sitting next to him, smiling down at Jace. "It was Magnus, oddly enough. It happened pretty fast, and Maia walked in." Alec laughed, just remembering the last detail. Jace looked at him for a second, asking, "Did you have sex?" Alec shook his head, Jace saying that he was glad, "Losing it at a party isn't too pretty; literally everyone will find out."

Saying that he knew and wasn't stupid with a smile, Jace smiled back at him, "Is it going to become something more serious?" Alec shrugged, trying to stop his smile from growing, failing. He replied, "We're supposed to be meeting later, but I feel like he's still to scared to come out as bisexual. I mean, I'm guessing that he's bisexual, because he has a reputation."

Jace agreed, saying that he probably was. "I suggest you try and hide those from mom; she won't shut up about them if she sees them. Also around Max, I hope that he doesn't know what they are yet." Alec got up, saying that he hoped he could. They weren't that dark, thankfully, but there was a lot of them.

 "Do you think I should put makeup on them or wear something to cover them?" Alec asked as he looked at them in the mirror again, poking at them like they were a foreign creature. Jace hummed for a second, Alec almost jumping out of his skin as he yelled for Isabelle. "Jesus Christ, it's not even 9am, Jace." Jace shrugged with a laugh, Isabelle rushing in a few moments after. 

Isabelle asked what was wrong, Alec turning to show her the hickeys. "Oh, my. You had a fun night." She laughed, leaning in to look at his neck in more detail. Alec said, "Can you cover them for me with makeup?" Isabelle nodded, saying she would as long as he told her the entire story of how he got them.

Alec agreed, Isabelle running back to her room to retrieve the makeup, Jace watching in amusement, also wanting to hear the story. Isabelle started to rub foundation all over his neck, Alec beginning to tell them both how it happened. "I got really drunk, obviously, and went upstairs to wander like a normal drunk person. I found Magnus in one of the rooms, and then we started talking, something about me in Rocky Horror I think."

Jace interrupted, "What about you in the musical?" Jace and Isabelle looked at each other, Alec trying his hardest not to blush, Isabelle continuing to work her magic on his neck. "If I remember correctly, he said something along the lines of me looking sexy as fuck in stockings and heels." Jace and Isabelle began to laugh, Isabelle saying that it was true.
