"All right we have everything ready?" I asked examining our items.
"Yep, but what are we going to hide Lacie in?' Taran asked, unsure of how we were going to sneak her out in public.
"Don't worry," Amelia said holding sunglasses and an overcoat in her hands, "we'll pretend she's drunk and unconscious. I picked theses up when I found the Rosemary at the store."
"Good thinking," I said and checked my phone to see we had about twenty minutes. "Want to head over there now?" I began stuffing the items into my backpack.
"Sure," Taran said nervously but yet determined.
The cemetery was dark and dreary when we arrived. I smelled the fresh cut grass and the dew from the water sprinklers. My eyes searched for her tomb silently.
"Found it," Amelia pulled out a shovel and began digging.
I joined in as Taran stayed behind watching for anyone who might stop by. When we hit the coffin, I flinched and prayed that everything would be okay when we awoke Lacie, or that at least she wouldn't try to kill Taran.
Amelia pulled the corpse out and performed the experiment right then and there. We flew off with Lacie's heavy body in my arms and I kept my eyes away from her until we got to the house where she was laid on the table. I watched as her breathing started up and her eyelids fluttered.
Taran's breath caught as Lacie's penetrating eyes gazed at me then at her.
"Michael?" she sat up, still looking the same before she died. The only difference was her breathing and the slower beat of her heart.
"Hey Lace," I said her nickname and looked at Taran to see how she was holding up.
"Amelia," Lacie said looking towards her and hugging her gently before hugging me.
"Hey," Amelia smiled, "how are you?"
"Better now that I'm alive. It's almost like I never left..." Lacie saw Taran just then and looked at her hand.
"Lacie, this is Taran, my wife."
"So there's a new girl then," Lacie said looking at me with pity and sorrow.
"Lace," I took a step towards her.
Taran stood innocently behind me and waited to see what was about to happen.
"You marry her instead of me! Michael why? After all we did together?"
"Lacie shut the hell up alright! I may have saved you from Sam,"
"No Michael you didn't! I got killed by him!"
"I saved you numerous of times from him!"
"Yes but you were too late the last time. You just move on like that? I can't believe you!"
I just gaped at the monster that was standing before me. "No," I began angrily, "I can't believe that you wouldn't want what is best for me since you died. I thought, no I knew that for the longest time I had lost you forever!"
Amelia stepped between us and glared at Lacie, "alright I've heard enough. You two make up and get over it, you are star crossed lovers and nothing more."
Lacie glared at us then turned towards Taran, "did you change her too? Is this your new toy Michael? Play with girls, change them, and then kill them!"
Taran stood up straight and got in her face, "look here bitch. Michael may not have been able to save your pitiful ass all the time, but don't even try to guilt trip him. I love him and know that his heart is pure. If you have an issue with that, tell me now and we can settle this."
Lacie backed off and sat down on the floor growling.
"Nice," I murmured and wondered what our next plan of action was.
"She's nothing but trouble," Amelia shook her head not understanding why it had turned out this way.
"She's just upset that Michael moved on and she hasn't had time to yet. She needs time to heal," Taran said feeling compassionate all of a sudden.
Suprising all of us, she went over to Lacie and said, "look I'm sorry we got off on the wrong hand earlier, but I'm willing to retry and help you." She stuck her hand out and waited for Lacie to either take it or bite it.
Lacie gave a tiny smile before saying, "okay."
Taran helped pull her up to her feet before hugging her.
Amelia and I just stared in shock, but neither of us questioned it. I for one was just glad they were being civilized.
