Dawn came the next day and I awoke to see Lacie was still asleep. I was glad that it looked like she had slept the whole night, but I became scared because it was nearly morning and Sam would want to know where she was. I waited a few more moments before awakening her.

Gently I shook her shoulders and said, "Lacie I need to take you back to camp."

Immediately she shot up, "Crap, Sam is going to call his parents. What time is it?"

I watched her as she checked her phone and relaxed a little. "It's only eight, he'll still be asleep by the time we get back. Ouch," she clutched her side again.

I watched as she took off the bandage and saw a small scar from where Sam had stabbed her. She looked at me reassuringly, "don't worry. I'll be fine, just overreacted a bit."

I helped her get on my back and flew her back towards camp. When we landed, Sam was still inside the tent. "Good luck," I whispered to her.

Lacie gazed at me with her blue eyes, "I'll try," and kissed me softly before retreating.

I plummeted into the sky smiling and amazed at how many times she could catch me off guard.

"Score!" I yelled when I arrived home and laid down on my bed thinking about when I could see her again. Dozing off somewhere in between my thought I dreamed of Lacie and her radiant smiling face. I longed for her to be here with me and awoke knowing my parents were expecting me to not go inhere in a relationship with a human girl.

I didn't care anymore though, Lacie had to be the one. i was sure of it, especially the way she looked at me with those smoky blue eyes of hers. One glance at me and I was captivated by her instantly. I decided that I was going to see her again tonight when Sam had gone to bed.

"That way he won't know what his ex-girlfriend and I are up too," I said smiling at the thought.

The day seemed to drag on forever. When it finally came time for me to go visit Lacie i was bounding up and down with excitement. I soared as fast as I could to where Lacie's camp was and waited near some trees for her to come out. She came out a few moments later saying goodnight to Sam from the other tent.

Smiling, I quietly walked over to her and waited for her to turn around and see me. When she did she gasped and said, "Michael. You came again, I knew you would," she hugged me quickly and hopped on my back. I flew into the air and went back to my home looking at her perfect and flawless angelic face.

"I don't know if this sounds weird or not, but I missed you today and couldn't stop thinking about you," Lacie said blushing and smiling.

"Actually, I did too," I admitted and watched her reaction turn from embarrassment to joy. "How's Sam been?" I asked hoping he wasn't drilling her for answers.

"He's fine, doesn't even think back to when he saw you. Surprisingly he doesn't talk about you either..."

I let the information unwind in my head while I thought about it. "That's good then," I said trying to change the subject.

Lacie frowned, "Michael I'm not sure how much longer I have here before I leave. But I know it'll be sooner if we don't find what we came here for."

"Well technically you did and as long as they know I'm close to where they are they'll keep waiting for me. No matter how long that is."

Lacie smiled, "of course. Why didn't I think of that?"

"Because humans are more prone to over thinking everything they do or say," I said partially teasing her and waiting for her reaction.

"Oh really?" Lacie said as she moved closer letting her scent fill my lungs.

I inhaled slowly and laughed, "what are you trying to prove?"

She winked, "you'll see," and kissed me softly.

At first I didn't think much of it until she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed harder. I grinned enjoying the fact of her trying to prove this "point" of hers. We were on my bed and I slowly laid down, allowing her to be on top.

Lacie giggled and continued to kiss me. I put my arms around her waist and held her closer an tighter. My wings were on the bed lying still, hopefully they would stay that way, I didn't want to scare her off with them. She pulled her ponytial out and let her soft black velvety hair fall down on her face, and brush against mine. She pulled back and I stroked her cheek with my finger while her bright smile lit up the room.

"I love you Michael," she whispered.

I was too shocked at first to say anything and then remembered I needed to say at least something back.

"I love you too Lacie," and felt my heart soar.

She smiled and pulled back when her cell began rining.

"Shoot," she muttered as she answered her phone, "Sam, I'm kind of busy right now getting firewwood, can I call you back?"

She waited a few moments while he responded.

"I know but I got cold, so I went to go look for some wood," she winked at me slyly.

I heard a voice behind me and Lacie screamed.

"What in the world are you doing here!" Sam yelled looking at Lacie then me.

My only question was, how the fuck did he find my cave in the first place?

"Leave Sam, you arent' welcome here," I outstretched my wings.

"Sorry for interupting Lacie," he grined at her before stabbing me with a needle that had some kind of antestetic in it.

I immediately fell to the floor, losing conscious as Lacie screamed my name.
