**Tell me your thoughts about this book? It won't hurt me if you don't like it as much. I just love hearing from you silent readers every once in a while!**

"Are we ready?" I asked as Amelia and Lacie were laughing over some joke Lacie had just told.

"Yes Michael, we are," my mother said walking over to my dad.

Lacie looked at me, "how am I supposed to get there?"

I tried not to laugh at her, "you'll be on my back the whole time."

She blushed slightly and hopped on my back without a second thought.

"Michael?" Lacie asked.

"Yea?" I tilted my head to see her.

"How long will it take to get there?"

I thought about it for a moment, "a couple of hours."

She yawned and laid her head on my back, as her hair fell across my shoulders. I chuckled as some of it hit me in the face.

"Whoops, sorry," she pulled her hair back as I chuckled and took off with ease.

"It's fine," I chuckled as she gripped me tighter when we ascended into the air.

After we were a little bit higher up, I nudged her arm, "you can relax you know. I won't drop you, I promise."

She giggled nervously, "I know you wouldn't. Just not used to being this high up, with little cover."

I sighed and teased her, "you're always afraid of something aren't you?"

Lacie punched me in the arm playfully and went along with being quote on quote insulted, before laughing and not trying to throw a comeback my way.

"Well you know it's true," I said knowing she wouldn't deny it either way.

"Hey! Love birds, hurry up!" Amelia called, breaking up our conversation.

"Okay miss sassy pants, whatever you say."

Lacie just giggled, clearly enjoying the brother and sister rivalry thing all too well.

"Hey Lace?" I asked.

"Yea?"

"We might hit some turbulence at some point, or go through freezing temperatures. Do you happen to have a jacket on you or anything?"

"Of course I brought a jacket, thanks for being concerned though Michael," she pulled on her jacket as her legs tightened around my waist.

Up ahead, I could see my parents looking back at us occasionally and smiling. They must be happy that I had found someone. Now we just need to find someone for Amelia...

I chuckled at the thought of Amelia dating a human like me. Man we would be one messed up family, that's for sure.

"Hopefully she'll listen to mom and dad and date a gargoyle," I muttered to myself and chuckled again. I knew Lacie was wanting to know what was making me laugh so much, but I wasn't sure what she would think of my thoughts.

I shook my head for her not to worry and I felt her relax slightly against me. Swiftly, I caught up to Mark and Liliana so I could ask them something.

"Hey mom, dad?"

"Yes Michael, what is it?"

"Where in Canada are we staying? And where will Lacie be?"

My parents looked at each other for a moment before my mom spoke up, "We'll be in Whistler, in a cabin along with Lacie. No one will notice we are there because we already dealt with the rent. It's a little bit more secluded so we'll be fine."

I sighed in relief knowing that Lacie was going to be in better accommodations than before.

My mom then added, "plus Michael we know how much she means to you. We wanted her to feel somewhat at home if we had to take her anywhere."

I smiled a thanks to my parents and let the wind push me back to where Amelia was.

She surprised me by saying, "thanks for dating her Michael. She's a really nice girl and I'm glad there's another one around here to hang out with."

"You're welcome Amelia. I guess this means you'll do the same for me and we would've both broken mom and dad's rules?"

I watched Amelia laugh, "not likely. Unless mom and dad end up being okay with you changing the course of history. Then I'll consider it."

I shook my head at her and gazed towards the horizon that was painted with mountains.

"Almost there." I whispered hardly believing I was going to Canada with the most beautiful girl on my back. The only thing I thought now was that Lacie was mine and no one else's. I admit that was being a little selfish of me but I didn't care. I had finally found the other half of me and there was nothing standing in my way.
