Chapter 2

Kelly didn't notice that Maria was heading into the hallway to bring some books from her locker. He was with John as usual. John poked Kelly though.
"What do you want bro?"
"Look ahead," John said, slightly chuckling.
"Who's that?"
"Your new crush."
"Stop it, shawty ain't my type," Kelly said and rolled his eyes.
John wouldn't take this as an answer so he pushed Kelly hoping that he would bump into Maria, and he did.
"Oh my! Look where you are going boy! You nearly killed me," Maria screamed and groaned with annoyance.
"Nah shawty you just exaggerating." Kelly teased as he winked at her.
"Damn shut up," she demanded and palmed herself.
"In your dreams," he replied back and smirked.
Andrew came through them, for he has seen the whole process.
"Are you okay Maria? Are you fine?" Andrew asked with a concerned face.
"Yes, I'm fine. Kelly was too busy playing with this dude right here, so he wasn't paying attention to anything and he bumped into me," Maria told Andrew.
"A guy should never push a girl like that" Andrew blinked, causing Maria to blush hard.
"Oh by the way, today there will be a basketball game between our school and another school. Of course John, Karl, Shawn, Joe, Kelly the dickhead, and I will play and some other backup guys from lower classes in the case of an injury." Andrew said, shocking his two friends.
"That sounds cool. I'll think about it," Maria said smiling.
"Come on you'll be my lucky charm. Did I mention that you look so beautiful today?" Andrew flirted.
"Alright I'll come, and can Nicole come with me?" Maria added and smiled.
"Yes, everyone is welcome. No problem,"
Kelly had already left the second Andrew stepped to defend Maria though. He didn't want to see him flirt with Maria cause he felt that Andrew liked her too.

As Maria was sitting in class, she received a sticky note from Nicole that says: So.... About you and Andrew😜.
Maria replied back with another sticky note: Nah. We are just friends. I just told you that he invited us to watch a basketball game against another school.
After 3 lame hours of studying, the bell rang, so it was time to go home, but before going home, Kelly decided to talk to Maria.
"Hey shawty, what's your name? By the way, as an apology for what happened earlier, I will invite you to come to the basketball game this afternoon. Maybe that will give you a better impression for myself," Kelly nervously said and sighed.
"I'm Maria and it's okay. There is no need for that. Andrew already invited me,"
Kelly felt the anger flowing through his veins finding this out.
Andrew never liked Kelly. He always wanted to be like him. All this jealousy and agony he had made him bring down Kelly everytime he got the chance to.
Kelly and Andrew are both small forwards in basketball, so only one of them plays more in the match, and of course it was Kelly since he was tenfolds better than Andrew, who always tried steal his spot. Now, he's trying to steal his future side chick. Kelly didn't want to fall in love. He just wanted sex, and because he was handsome, he gained that from many girls.

Kelly went home and saw his mom cooking "Hello mom! How are you today?"
She was the woman he respected more than anyone.
"Kelly my little baby boy! I'm fine! What about you?"
"Mom I'm good and I'm not a little baby. Where is dad?"
"Kelolo! First, You will always be my little baby no matter how old you'll be. Second, your father is still at work,"
"Will y'all both come to watch my team play in the afternoon?"
"Yes of course Kelolo! Your father and I will definitely go and watch your team!"

Kelly went upstairs to his room, wore his jersey and shorts, and then his phone was rang It was John.
"Alo John."
"Alo Kelly. So are you ready???"
"YESSIR!!! We gon destroy the other team." He excitedly said.

Meanwhile, Maria still didn't know what to wear. She was so worried, so she told Nicole to come over and bring with her something to wear because her clothes were like trash.
Nicole arrived with this in her hand:

"How about this casual dress?"
"OMG! It's so beautiful! I like flowers. What can I say except that you're a genius Nicole... Will this impress Kelly Oubre jr. ?" She shyly asked and chuckled.
"Why do you wanna impress him😏?" Nicole answered back and laughed.
"DUDE!? Don't you see how handsome he is??? He is the most wholesome guy I've ever seen in my life," Maria unconsciously claimed.
"Mmm you were saying otherwise before," Nicole replied and rolled her eyes.
"Look Maria. I know he's hot and everything, but he's a bad guy. All girls have their eyes on him, and he has already broke the hearts of many girls and I don't want this to happen to you," Nicole explained and sighed.
Maria felt her heart shatter into pieces as she heard this coming from Nicole.
"But... Why would a guy like him break girl's hearts..."
"Yep. He sleeps with them then breaks up with them. He's a player. Be careful around him," she warned.

It was finally time for the basketball game.
Before every game, the teams practice a little.
"Kelly looks so fucking good with his basketball uniform," Maria thought. She couldn't help but stare at him! Until then, suddenly Kelly looked up and winked at her.
"His wink makes my heart melt," she thought. She couldn't help but blush too.
The game started. It was a wonderful and close game!
Just then, Kelly threw a ball by mistake to the Audience. It came on Maria's head! Kelly felt the awe and he couldn't do anything but approach to Maria.
"I'll make it up to you. I'm sorry shawty," he said winked.
Maria couldn't get mad at Kelly. He was looking too good standing and speaking to her.
Andrew came up to see if Maria was okay, and indeed she was fine.
"If I were Kelly, I would impress you with my skills without throwing a ball on your pretty face for attention," Andrew stated and smirked.
"Mistakes happen," she exclaimed and rolled her eyes.
The game was tied at 70-70. There were just 3 seconds left, and Kelly had the ball with him, so he shot a 3 and BOOM!!! It came in! The school won 73-70 because of Kelly! Andrew felt the jealousy and envy taking over his body as usual.
Everyone was cheering for Kelly and he turned around and saw Maria.
"See, I told you I'll make it up to you," he whispered.
Then, he planted a kiss on her left cheek. Her heart melted. She was speechless. This man was a different breed!
