“Congratulations to the graduating class of 2018.” The rush I felt from throwing that ridiculous hat into the air and finally taking my first breathe into adulthood. Of course this was only the second time I meanly turned my tassel but come on that was high school. When you graduate from high school, most people continue onto college, which means no adult life. “Oh great here comes my dad.” I rolled my eyes as my sucky excuse for a father walked over to me with the most ridiculous grin on his face and piss poor bouquet of daisy’s. “Really? Daisy’s dad? How old am I twelve?” “Anaese! Congratulations sweetie!” my father said as he wrapped his arms around me. I gave him a fake smile replying, “Thanks dad it means so much coming from you.” “Really it does.” I walked back towards the parking lot with my hat and diploma in hand. Oh how I wished my mother would have came today instead of him. The sun was shining so bright I couldn’t let this unpleasant visit ruin my graduation day.

Driving back to my apartment I dialed my mother’s number through the Bluetooth device and fumbled my thumbs on the steering wheel along with the ringing tone. “Why hello graduate.” I smiled as I turned left onto Cresson Street. “Hi mommy how are you?” “I’m great love just sitting in my office typing up paperwork what about you?” I was just about to speak when my gas light popped on. “Great. I was almost home. Well I was heading home but now I’m stopping for gas.” “Are you doing anything for the rest of the day?” “I’m pretty sure dad is going to try to take me to dinner.” “Well just please him sweetie I know you don’t want to.” “Says the lady who is no longer married to him!” I grabbed my phone out the dashboard disconnecting the Bluetooth as I pulled up next to the pump. “Oh low blows today Nese I see?” “Yes ma’am.” “Well I’ll let you go call me later on tonight or shoot me a text okay?” “Gotcha.” As I hung up the phone I shook my head thinking to myself, “Shoot you a text? That’s what wrong with this society. My mom is now an active texter.”

I must have been wrapped up in my thoughts because I never notice the car coming towards me. I opened my door and WHAM my entire door goes flying off the hinges. “What the hell?! WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCK?!” I jump out the car dropping my phone on the seat. Starring at my door on the ground I couldn’t even begin to grasp the emotions running through my head. “I am soo sorry ma’am I thought you saw me coming.” I turned around to give a harsh tongue lashing to this horrid person who just destroyed my car but I couldn’t do or say anything. She was beyond gorgeous. “Y-y-y-you what the hell lady!” I pretty sure my face expression matched what I thinking inside my head. “Damn.” Because she just started grinning at me. “Hey this is not a grinning moment ma’am.” Somehow I had gained my composure back and took a stern grip on this situation. “I’m sorry but the look on your face—““The look my face doesn’t have shit to do this. Look at my fucking car dude like what the entire fuck!” I threw my hands up into the hair and bent slightly over to grab my phone out the car. Now I know I’m hard of hearing but I’m pretty sure I heard a whistle. “We should exchange insurance information because someone’s going to pay for this fucking door.” I was pissed. I don’t even like to cuss out loud but my damn door was gone! On my graduation day at that! “I really am sorry about your door but your right we do need to exchange contact information. I saw a twinkle in her eye that made something deep inside me jump. I don’t know who this woman was but she was turning my heat on. “A woman! Oh dear lord I’m attracted to a woman, wait until my mother hears this.”
