Chapter Thirteen:Know When To Fold Them

Pulling up at the Panera I parked next to Eric's Honda Accord checking myself in the mirror before getting out. Walking in a spotted him standing up from the booth I immediately walked over smiling. Giving him a huge hug I sat down in the seat across from him. "Hi Ana." He said looking me over smiling. "Hi Eric." "How are you doing? I heard you were in the hospital. I felt like I shouldn't have been there." frowning I spoke. "But why? Why wouldn't you come see me in the hospital?" "Because I already knew your "friend" would be there and I didn't want any unnecessary drama at the hospital while you were in a coma. But I talked to your mother and Morgan everyday." Smiling my tummy started grumbling. "Well at least you checked on me. Can we order cause apparently I'm hungry." We both busted out laughing walking to the counter to order food.

Pulling up at my parents house in my Dodge Charger i parked in my spot walking to the side entrance going inside. Before leaving the house i had changed into a more business appropriate attire because that's what today was about, handling business. I was actually relieved Ana had gone to eat with a friend. I didn't really want her around this. Walking into the kitchen my mother turned around smiling. "Well hello my lovely daughter, your brothers are here as well." "Hey momma and I'll go speak." Giving her a kiss on the cheek I walked into the family room where I saw my dad and 3 brothers all sitting around dress in all black suits. "Hey fam." "Damn Tay we was wondering if you were ever gonna show. Where's Anaese? " my oldest brother Terry said dapping me up. I hadn't seen Terry in a couple of months. "She went to lunch with a friend. I see your locs tryna catch up with me and mom's." "Its gonna take awhile for my shit to catch up with yalls." "Hey Dad." He nodded sitting up in his chair pulling out a huge black portfolio. Everyone got quit because our meeting was in session. My mother walked in sitting on the arm of my father's chair with serious eyes. "Now time to get down to business. I talked to Dawson today about retrieving the blueprints from Red--well Derrick's place and here they are. The layout is pretty simple I don't know why we didn't think about it sooner. Now Camora and Debra have been talking and the trap is set on their end. Debra will be going to dinner with Derrick tomorrow night to talk about what happened with Ana. Ana is to not know her mother is going on this date." He stopped talking looking straight at me. Nodding my head he continued. "Thomas knows Derrick's oldest daughter from bartending school he's invited her out with Morgan to "turn up" as you kids say. Once Debra has Derrick at the restaurant we will let their night go accordingly, if everything goes well he will not want to stay for long. As soon as he gets up to leave Tiyuana and Terry will snatch him up. It needs needs to be quick easy and quiet. Once captured we'll take him to the warehouse out by grams way. Meanwhile Thomas and Morgan should be getting Derrick's oldest daughter nice and drunk. When she's to drunk to function they'll bring her to the warehouse as well. Taylor you are to get to the warehouse before Derrick! No if ands or buts. If you have the damn girl a roofie by all means do it. But she needs to get here before Derrick. Once she gets to the warehouse I have my own set of guys ready to take over from there. As much as I know you all want Derrick this has to be done professional quiet and slick. Therefore I can't can't have can't have any emotions in this next part of the plan. I've removed you all from the plans because you all are to attached." Pausing he looked around the room at all of us studying our facial expressions. "Tomorrow we go to work family and we won't go down without a fight better believe that. Any questions?" Everyone shook their heads no and stood up. Hugging all my brothers I told them I loved them like we did after every meeting and walked back into the kitchen. Pulling out my phone I texted Ana.

"Ana I really like you woman I don't even think you understand how much I am feeling you. We've known each other for so long I thought we really had something going. I don't want to give up trying to win your love because I'm really just feeling you way to much to just be a friend. Like I've legit never felt like this before. Please just give me a try." Eric said looking me deep into my eyes. At this point I had stopped eating just focusing on everything he had just said to me. "Wow Eric I wasn't expecting this at all--" "Do you love her?" Looking up at him with wide eyes "Excuse me?" "Do you love her Ana? Cause at one point I thought you loved me, or at least really really liked me." Rubbing my temples I begin thinking to myself how this meeting was a huge mistake. My phone screen lit up showing a peach color text icon and a peach led light. Tay had texted me. "Is that her?" He asked looking down at my phone. Nodding my head he let out a deep sigh. "I don't wanna give up on you Anaese, and honestly I don't think you want to either. If I'm wrong please tell me so." "Eric this is complicated. Well no not really complicated just confusing. If you knew how I felt about you why didn't you just say something? You wait until after we graduate from college to finally give me the time of day. And then here's Tay crashing into my life literally and I fell head over heels for her. I've never really had had a boyfriend and definitely not a girlfriend before so these feelings I'm having are all brand new. But to answer your question yes I do love her. Very much so in fact that's why I wanted to meet with you face to face. These feelings I had for you can't be any more Eric. That wouldn't be fair to you or Tay to string you both along and I'm not that type of girl. I really do care for this woman Eric, I'm sorry. " Frowning he opened his mouth and closed it again. Looking down he finally spoke."How can you be in love with someone who put you in the hospital?" Raising an eyebrow at him I could feel my face getting hot. The nerve of him. "She did not put me in the hospital!" Hitting my fist on the table. His eyes got wide and he jumped back."That's not what I heard but whatever Ana, I still want to remain friends with you and I'll respect what you and her have going on. Just know if things don't work out with her, I'm still here for you." Rubbing my temples some more I watched Eric get up and leave cleaning off his tray. Picking up my phone once he left the store I finally read her text.

Hey baby just been thinking about you. How was your lunch date?

Smiling at her text I began replying when another text came in from Morgan.

Clearing my table of the rest of my dishes I walked out to my car hopping in reading Morgan's text.

Hey bitch! Where the hell you been did you die? Argh that's not funny but call me.

Laughing at Morgan's texted I pressed her speed dial number and connected her to the cars blue tooth waiting for her to answer.

"Heey bitch!" Morgan yelled through the speakers of my car as I left the parking lot. "Hey Mor how are you?" "I'm gucci girl on my way to the office to pick up some paperwork before I go to this clients building what about you?" "I'm on my way to my job to see when they want me to start." "Hopefully they say today girl get that bread." Yes hopefully. Since graduation Morgan had started working at her Uncle company that she would be taking over when he retired in 2 years. Morgan loved her uncle and being able to work for him was a blessing.  He own a huge company that basically handled all the huge companies finances and media. What better job is there than to be handling everyone's money and image? Morgan was one nosey woman so it was a dream job for her to be able to digg into everyone's business. "How are you and Thomas?" I said turning onto the belt line downtown. "We are good girl. We are actually going out tomorrow night with one of his friends." "That's good, where's my invite?" "No! Ugh I mean I don't know I'll have to ares Thomas I mean after all it is his friend. Urm anywho enough about me, how are you and Tay?" I frowned looking are set my phone shaking the thoughts away. I couldn't help but laugh at Morgan she was always full of energy enough to fill a room. "I meant to ask you how you felt about me dating Tay?" "Hey girl you like it I love it. I pulled up into a parking spot near the entrance sliding out the car grabbing my phone. Walking through the big white doors I remembered how nervous I was for my interview. But thanks to my mom prepping me I nailed it and got my dream job working for McDowell Med Agency that oversaw small clinics and a couple of hospitals. "Hi Ana." The front desk receptionist said smiling at me as I approached her desk. "Hi Megan how are you?" "I'm splendid. Have a good day." I nodded and proceeded to the elevator doors. Pressing the 'up' button I waited on the next elevator humming to the lobby music. Once inside the elevator I went straight to the top floor where my office was. Walking through everyone smiled and greeted me with such joy. Yes I like this job already. Walking through the big glass doors I reached my boss's office. There set Cindy the whore-like receptionist that I just so happened to go to high school with. "Good Afternoon Anaese, you needed to see Mr.Thompson?" "Yes" I replied with the same fake tone she was giving me. Speaking into the intercom,"Mr.Thompson I have Anaese here to see you." She looked at me and smiled."He will see you now." I had never actually met Mr.Thompson I interviewed with his head HR lady but I wanted to be straight forward. Opening the big doors I walked into the spacious office and stopped dead in my tracks.
