Chapter Eighteen: Act Natural

Looking over myself in the mirror I admired what I saw. Even though I wasn't at all confident in taking over Derrick's company I knew my mother and her awesome assistant would help me become the biggest boss known to man. I had on a crisp navy blue pant suit with a peach blouse. Morgan hooked me up and gave me a awesome blowout to my hair. My makeup was neat and natural.  I also bought me a pair of peach low work heels. I looked good. Turning around once more I was finally satisfied with my outfit of choice. Grabbing my big navy blue purse/briefcase and my keys and phone I headed to the front door. Soon as I opened the door I was greeted my loving fiancée.

"Well hello working woman and damn you look good enough to eat." She said giving me a kiss on my forehead. "Why thank you baby. Have to look professional. I'm running my own business now." My whole face turned red at the thought of having my own business. "It's okay baby, I would have made Derrick give you the company if I didn't think you were ready. Plus with your mothers great business skills and her successful assistant I don't see how you could go wrong. Plus you can always ask my mom and dad for advice. " "True. Well baby I'll meet you for lunch later on today okay? I'm meeting my mother at the office now. She said she has a surprise for me." "Don't you just love surprises?" Tay said following behind me. "Mm well it depends on the surprise." Opening the car door I leaned in turning around to give Tay a big kiss. "Mm I love you baby." she said smiling down at me. "I love you to."

Pulling into my assigned parking space I quickly existed the vehicle making my way into the huge building. Once upstairs I was greeted by a office full of balloons everyone yelling out "SURPRISE!" Nearly gave myself a heart attack. Looking around at all the strange happy faces I saw my mother and her assistant smiling at me. "Hey mommie." Walking over giving her a huge hug. "Surprised huh?" "Greatly." "Well we thought you deserved a surprise for your first big day love. Plus it's a great way to meet your new employees. We hired and fired alot of people though so we feel very strongly about your new staff." My mother's assistant Jeff said looking down at his huge tablet and PDA talking quickly. Turning around I looked at all the people smiling and for a moment I felt overwhelmed. But I was the boss so I had to act like the boss. Be the boss. "Well let's get to this meet and greet." I said with a huge smile.

Flipping through papers and finalizing items I double checked everything and finally put them in the black portfolio and put it in the open briefcase. Looking up to my mother she smiled a approving smile. "I haven't said much about you and Ana, Camora but I am very happy you've found someone you love. Honestly I hated it when you were ripping and running through different women.But that's in the past so let's let the past be the past hmm?" I nodded closing the briefcase. "You are a strong woman Tay you've seen and had to deal with quite a lot at a young age. It does sadden me I'm not gonna lie but all is well. That's why I focus so hard now trying to make the best of your life. I don't like that you took after your father's footsteps but it's something better than nothing. Just now this job comes with great consequences.  I'm sure you recall the recent consequence. Do you plan on having kids?" She turned and looked at me with her big gray eyes. I could tell both my parents greatly wanted grandkids from me. "Yes I do want kids." "Well honestly this is not the lifestyle to be raising kids. This life was very much different when you and your brothers and sisters were growing up. I just want you to keep in mind that you want a family. I'm pretty sure you could sell the organization to the C.I.A and retire or do something." When my mother always got to talking about family and life she could definitely get my brain thinking. "Thank you mom." "Your welcome Camora." My mother mother and father were the only ones who I actually let call me Camora to anyone else I'm Tay or Tiyuana. "Well mother I'll leave this for your care. I'm off to join Ana for lunch and furniture shopping." "Furniture shopping? You mean that house is still empty Camora?!" "Ma I was waiting on her!" she playfully hit me upside the back of my head giggling. "Mmhmm go head and enjoy the rest of your day. Call Stormy she's been trying to get in touch with you." "Again?!" "Um I don't know when was the last time you talked to her?" "Yesterday." "Then no. But maybe you should check up on her." "I will. Love you ma." "Love you to baby." Kissing my mother on the cheeks I watched her get in her convertible and speed off. No question where I got the heavy foot from.
