"Your name please?" the owner asked us and we gave our alibi names to her. The owner of this diner is a middle-aged woman and thankfully, she looks like a friendly boss.

"Oh, married couple" she commented while chuckling and I politely smiled at her.

"You can start working now if you like. Salary's not that bad, this diner is open until 12 midnight" We badly need money and I guess this is the best option we had.

"Yes ma'am" we agreed together and awkwardly look at each other because of that. In return, the owner just laughed at us and instructed us what to do in her diner.

The position assigned to me is being at the cashier area and Natasha is working as a waitress. They have their uniform thingy here and honestly, it looks good at her. The only thing I'm concern at is the length of the 'uniform'.

I know, nothing's bad about wearing those clothes but I just hate men who look at her with lust. We just got here at the diner and amazingly, the customers are increasing said by the owner. Especially men customers.

There are girls of course but compare to the number of men here, it's just ¼. I deeply sighed while I tried to focus on my job.

I don't want to lose this job by over-thinking things. Natasha can handle those pervert guys and I'm sure of it. She's Black Widow you know?

"Good evening Ma'am & Sir! What would you like to order?" I courteously smiled at them, trying to erase my negativity and deep thoughts.

While working here at the cashier area, I can't avoid looking at Natasha if she's doing fine. I bet she's more into kicking asses and throwing punches to enemies than serving customers in this diner.

We all experienced the aftermath of the Civil War. And starting that time, I keep on wondering how we can or I bring us back together again. It takes a lot of time and effort indeed. Deep wounds require more time and patient to heal.

I lied to my friend, Tony, about his parents' death just to protect my friend Bucky. But the thing I did back then was so stupid, how can I forget that Tony is also my friend like Bucky. I should've been honest to him at least from the start.

Until when? I have no idea until when we can avoid each other's paths. Me and Tony. It's true that without the help of his father, I would not become who am I today.

Also, until when? Natasha deserves so much more in life and not working here in diner as her part-time job. Even if she won't admit this, I know she misses the Avengers. The only family left that she has is us.

The Avengers.

I don't know when will the other Avengers return to our house but I'm sure they have reasons. So do I.

Last question is, how long does she have to stay with me? Sooner or later, she'll probably decide for her own. Like living on her own or even travelling somewhere, maybe finding jobs where she's suitable and comfortable at.

I'm honestly afraid when that time comes. What should I do if she'll leave me alone? But I'm not the selfish-type of person. Whatever her decisions are, as long as she's safe and happy, I'm in.

Whether she's with me or not.

"Thanks to the both of you, there are lots of customers here!" based on the owner's expression, she's really grateful to the both of us. She handed out our salary and we also helped her to close the diner.

Time really surely flies, a while ago I didn't feel tired but as of right now, I feel like sleeping for 12 hours or more.

"Mr. Evans? You're okay?" she asked me while linking her arms to mine. We're now going back to our house. It's a tiring day.
