Chapter 4: Project

Morning

Minhye POV

It's the second day of school, everyone is seated on their chairs as they wait for the next subject, the bell rang and Mrs. Ahn went into the classroom.

"Class we'll be having an algebra project by twos, you are free to choose your own partner"

I saw the reactions of the girls, they wanted Mingyu to be their partner.

"Okay lets start, raise your hand if you want to be partnered with Jihoon"

Soonyoung hurriedly raised his hand because he knows that Jihoon is a bright student

"Me!" he said in an active tone

"Jihoon and Soonyoung" Mrs Ahn listed their names into the record

Some average students glower and sobs after Jihoon is partnered with Soonyoung

Mingyu POV

I don't want to be partnered with these clingy girls. I can't keep my concentration on the project if my partner is like this.

"Next, who wants to be partnered with Minhye?"

"Me!" me and Seungcheol both said in chorus, the whole class teased us

Seungcheol POV

What a timing, I wanted to be partnered with Minhye because I wanted to -

"Stop the murmurings class! Minhye you go and pick your partner"

I saw her reaction, she can't look at me in the eyes.

Minhye POV

I was startled when both of them chose me, I didn't expect this act.

I decided to choose Mingyu despite of the fact that the girls will surely think that I am stealing him away from them. It's better to be troubled by those girls than to be with Seungcheol who left me without a plausible reason.

"I--, I will be choosing Mingyu"

Seungcheol looked down into the ground and shows a frown on his face showing a disappointment.

"Mrs Ahn! I would like to be partnered with Seungcheol instead!" Haneul dynamically raised her hand and nodded to Seungcheol showing a don't worry face

"Alright, Mingyu and Minhye, Seungcheol and Haneul"

Ring

My head is turned down as I read our project questions, possibly thinking for some laid-back solutions.

"Hey you seems so serious there!"

Mingyu playfully hit me in my head as he gave me an egg sandwich.

"It's break time, eat first and btw thank you for choosing me"

He smiled at me warmly showing his front teeth that makes him even good looking. I saw Seungcheol's reaction who is seating two seats infront of us. He just looked away and pretend that he is not listening to our conversation.

"Don't thank me it's nothing" I replied

Haneul POV

I saw Seungcheol who's quietly sitting on his seat.

"Hey!" I snapped a finger infront of him

"What? My head hurts"

"Then go to the clinic, uhm when and where are we going to do the project?"

I asked him but he doesn't pay attention to me maybe because of headache

"Yah Seungcheol-ah! Focus or else I will choose another partner"

Thankfully he gets on his mind when I spoke those words.

"On our house, Saturday afternoon, meet me at our bookstore"

I nodded at him.

Third Person POV

Minhye went to the comfort room, she rinses her face with the water as some girls arrived.

"Oh look who we have here"

"A b*tch who picks Mingyu as her partner"

"Maybe she had a personal plan on him"

"Well they don't even suit each other, she's just so pathetic"

The girls keep on murmurings, Minhye heard all those phrases, she expects that this will happen so she just ignored them and proceed to the clinic instead in order to get medicines for headache.

But when she reached the door way, a lot of girls are looking outside the clinic's door. When she looked, it is all because of the new doctor. She knocked and entered, she saw the table having the new doctor's name on it. "Ohh Kim Taehyung is his name" she whispered

"Good Morning, what hurts on you?"

"I have a headache"

Dr. Kim searched for a medicine on the cabinet and gave it to her.

"Here it will help you to relieve the headache"

He handed the medicine and Minhye muttered a thanks then left the clinic.

Soonyoung POV

I am indeed lucky to have Jihoon as my partner, I can just simply lay back and relax while letting him do the work.

"Hey hey Jihoon!" I poked my index finger on his shoulder

"What? I am reading here don't disturb me"

He continues to read and didn't bother to talk with me. I saw Minhye entering our room, she had a medicine, I wonder why? Is she sick?

But when I continued to look at her, she goes near to Seungcheol's seat.

"Here take this" She handed the medicine to Seungcheol and left it on his table

"Hey Jihoon! Look what I saw! Minhye brought some medicines for Seungcheol" I actively said

"Then what about it? We're you jealous?"

"No! I'm just curious why are they like cats and dogs sometimes"

"Let them be, its none of your business, stop gossiping and focus on our plans for the project"

"You'll do the project yourself and I will just give you a reward after"

His ears began to red after I said those phrases, not wanting to do the project alone, so he just yelled at me.

"Kwon Freaking Soonyoung!!!!!!!"
