Chapter 7: Bookstore

Jihoon POV

I just started conceptualizing the song that I will compose, I am having a hard time what genre would I pick as well as the theme. So I just pick my phone and started to do my first draft while my earphones are plugged in.

Mingyu POV

Everyone in the class seems busy on preparing for the talent show, I am torn if I should join or not. Also I wanted to read some books, I guess Minhye will help me where to go.

"Minhye-yah do you know any bookstores?"

"The library, you can go there" she replied

"The books there are all old, I wanted to try new ones"

Minhye POV

There is only one bookstore that I know and that is Cheol's.

"Uhmm follow me after our class"

He nodded and smiled at me.

-Time Skip-

I bring him to Cheol's bookstore and let him browse some books under fiction category. Cheol didn't know that we will go today. I also searched for a book to read then I saw "The Fault in our Stars" but I can't reach it, I kept on stretching my hand but there's no use. Aish! Why is it too high!

"This one?"Mingyu asked me. "Y—Yes" I nodded then would you believe what he did? He placed the book into the higher shelve! Aish

"Hey I can't even reach it! Why did you placed it higher?" I said while furrowing my eyebrows

"Maybe you needed vitamins to become taller" he teased me

Mingyu POV

I am searching for some music books until such time that I saw Minhye reaching out for a book on the top of the shelve. So being a tall person I am, I playfully placed the book in a higher shelve.

"Hey I can't even reach it! Why did you placed it higher?" she said

"Maybe you needed vitamins to become taller" I teased her then he playfully punched me on my shoulder "You pabo!"

"Don't come with me when I become taller with you!" she jokes

"Haha let us see" we both laughed not noticing that it is kinda loud

After then, a voice interrupted us.

"Ehem ehem" When we turned around it was Seungcheol who was crossing his arms and shaking his head while showing a smirked on his face.

"Hi Bro don't misunderstand I just handed her the book" I explained

"Don't you know that this is a library? Silence is a must" he scolded us

"We're sorry" I apologized

Minhye's reaction is something that I can't explain, I really wonder what's the matter behind them.

Seungcheol just walked away after I speak.

"Uhm Mingyu are you done searching for a book?" Minhye asked me

"Yup I already get one, I'll just buy this, wait for me for a second"

After I paid for the book I quickly grab her hand while walking away from the bookstore.

Minhye POV

Why is he holding my hand?

"U—uhm Mingyu" I muttered and points to our hands

"Ohh I'm sorry" he let go of my hand

O-kay that was awkward

While we are walking, I heard that his stomach his growling so I asked him to eat. I bring him near the park which sells the best street foods.

"Are you eating street foods?" I asked him but being a rich person he was I guess no?

"I do" he replied. "Are you sure?" I asked him again "Yes" he answered

I excitingly went to the corner of sweet potatoes stall.

"Ahjussi two sweet potatoes please"

I was about to bring out my wallet and paid for the costs but Mingyu stopped me.

"Don't. It's my treat" he paid for our food then we searched for a bench to sit on.

Mingyu POV

It was my first time that I ate street foods, I always eat on expensive restos but I guess street foods are fine too. While we are seating together on a bench I asked her the thing between Cheol and her because I am curious.

"Hmm Minhye, would you mind if I ask you something?"

"Go ahead" she said while pilling her sweet potatoes

"What's with Seungcheol and you?" I gulped and asked her

She just took a deep breath and inhaled

"We used to be in a relationship before but we break up without knowing the plausible reason but I really--"

She got cut off by her words and was about to cry, her eyes are watery but she managed to hold up her tears.

I slowly moved near her and pull her head to lean on my shoulder. This time she can't hold back the feelings so she just started to sob. "Seungcheol I thought we're going strong" she keeps on whispering with a heartache

"Sssh it's fine everything happens for a reason" I get my handkerchief on my pocket and wept her tears on her face

She is still leaning on my shoulder, thinking and contemplating about the matter of them. I pity her, a girl like this doesn't deserve this kind of pain.

After a couple of minutes, she removed her head and stand up. Her eyes are still teary so I gave her my handkerchief.

"Here take this" I handed her the handkerchief and she smiled at me

"Thank you so much and sorry for involving you on my dramatic life" she replied

"No worries that's what are friends for" I smiled back to her

We walked away from the park and we didn't notice that it's already 8pm. I sent her home and waved a goodbye after she is on their door house.

While taking the route to our house, I saw Jihoon on his way somewhere so I quickly asked him.

"Hey Jihoon right?" I tapped his shoulder and he looked at me

"Oh Mingyu! What are you doing here?" he asked me then I noticed that he is holding a notebook

"I lived nearby, how about you? And what's that notebook?" I asked with a questioning look

"I am on my way to Seungcheol's house I finished composing our song for the talent show"

Wow they'll be joining the show

"Okay goodluck guys" I smiled

"So I must go now, bye take care"

"Bye" I waved at him

They'll be joining hmm seems like I wanted to join too and gave the price to Minhye as a gift

Seungcheol POV

I felt jealously on the scene that I saw at our own bookstore a while ago. The transferee student and her together makes my heart ceased and aches. I also wonder that:

One day she will ask me which is more important. My life or hers? I will say mine and she will walk away not knowing that she is my life.
