Chapter 2: Awkward

Lunch Time

Haneul POV

It's lunch time, me and Minhye are sitting at the canteen while eating. She seems to have a problem but I guess it is all because of Cheol. Maybe she haven't moved on yet with what happened so I just asked her some stuffs to divert her attention.

"Hey! Mingyu is handsome right? Don't get me wrong" I said as I feed myself on a spoonful meal

"Oh yeah he is" she nodded with a plain answer

Mingyu POV

It's my first day here at school, the canteen is so crowded, I just finished ordering my lunch meal and I am still holding my tray looking for a table to sit.

"Hi looking for a table? You can seat with us" a random girl approached me

"Mingyu right? Sit here I reserved one for you" another girl offered me again

"I'm sorry girls but this guy is sharing table with us" Soonyoung acclaimed

"I think I would love to sit beside them" I said

"What? Okay fine, see you next time!" the two girls went away and they left me with a smile on their faces

"Thanks dude, you just saved me from those sassy girls" I thanked Soonyoung

"But honestly? We haven't found a table yet" Jihoon butt in

We turned our heads here and there to search a table.

"Hey, how about there?" Jihoon said pointing to the table with two girls seating on it.

Oh, I recognized them. They're my classmates too! We walked to their table, and they both looked up at us.

"Excuse me Miss can we seat here?" I asked

"Sure thing" Haneul greeted us

The girl who sat beside her seems out of focus, she didn't even notice our presence.

Minhye POV

I am still playing on my food while my chin is resting on my hand, deeply looking at the window. Still cogitating and contemplating about my first boyfriend Cheol.

"Yahh!!! They're eating with us." Haneul snapped her finger near my face making me notice their presence

"Oh hello! Nice to meet you" I greeted them

The table of ours have six seats, Soonyoung and Haneul are sitting beside me and the seat infront of me is empty. Until such time that a guy went near to our table, I was looking down but when I looked up he is Seungcheol. My heart beats become irregular when I saw him is it because I am mad or it's just because I am nervous to be with him again?

"Can I seat here?" he asked the whole squad

"No!"

"Yes!"

"Maybe I'll just look for some other table" he said in a flat tone and prepares to leave

"No, just sit here" Haneul pulled him up, making him seat infront of me

Gosh what is this view. I can feel the tension in the air, it is really awkward.

Soonyoung POV

What's with them, they seems uncomfortable with each other.

"So how's our school?" I asked Mingyu to break the silence

"It's fine aside from those girls offering me a seat" he responded

"Someday you'll get used to it, I feel your struggle on being a handsome guy" I jokingly said then he just laughed at me likewise the squad except Minhye

Seungcheol POV

I can see in her face that she haven't moved on yet, I worried if she can still eat and sleep at nights properly. I am truly sorry Minhye-yah for causing you too much pain but I have to let you go.

"Here, grab this" I gave her an apple juice but she refused

"No thanks, I am fine" she responded

"Me Seungcheol hyung! I love apple juice!" Mingyu raised his hand

I gave him the juice, he gladly accepted it. Haneul signals me to eat faster and went away because her bestfriend is uncomfortable with me. After I finished eating I waved all of them a goodbye and went to our classroom.

Jihoon POV

I know the thing between those two that's why I don't take the courage of having in a relationship. I mostly focused all my time and attention to studies and reading books.

"Uhm Kim MIngyu do you have a girlfriend?" Haneul asked him while her fingers are stroking her hair

"I don't have" Mingyu answered

Girls nowadays are so ugh nevermind! Maybe some of their brain cells just dislocated making them forgot that girls shouldn't do the first move!

"Hey Haneul stop it! It's not proper to ask him like that" Minhye butt in

Finally you've got it right Minhye! Great job

"I don't care maybe he can be the missing electron on my neutral life" she added

"Stop with you're Chemistry things, lets give our mind a break" I whispered then Soonyoung joined the convo

"Me ! I don't have a girlfriend" Soonyoung said

"I'm not even asking you!" Haneul makes face

What's wrong with people nowadays? Broadcasting the world that they're single and in relationship is a private thing! Tsk tsk

Mingyu POV

Girls are all approaching me and clinging onto me, I feel uncomfortable with this atmosphere and I am not used to it.
