Varian's POV

No one was moving. The music was playing, but everyone stood still, as if waiting for someone else to start it. I turned to look at Y/N, only to see no one next to me. I whipped my head at the sound of laughter, seeing Y/N pull a young girl into the center and start dancing. Then the girl went to grab the hand of another girl. This kept on until everyone was in the dance. Everyone except me anyways. I caught Y/N's eye and she waved at me to join. I shook my head. I will confess, I am not the best dancer. But then she made a pouty face, her lower lip sticking out. She was really cute. I shook my head at myself, trying to get those thoughts out of my head. But to make it look like I was doing it because of her, I laughed, put our things down, and joined in. Everybody was having a great time. She was having a great time. We were about to link hands, when an older couple split in the middle, the man taking Y/N by the arm, and the lady taking me by the arm. We looked at each other and I mouthed a 'help me!'. Y/N threw her head back, laughing. The dance continued, even when the sun started to go down. Everyone had a chance to show off a little dance in the center. When it was Y/N'S turn, she spun in a circle, letting her F/C dress flow around her. At times, because of her long dress, she would trip a little. But she would just keep going. One time, though, it didn't just look like she tripped. It looked like she was losing balance. Before she could stop, she started to fall. I ran out and caught her before she could fall on her back. She opened her eyes and looked at me. We stayed like that for a few minutes. I could have stayed like that for forever.
"TO THE BOATS!!"
She stood up and dusted off her dress. I could've sworn I saw her blush. If she was, what was she blushing at? The dance? The situation? Me? I was so much in my thoughts, I didn't notice Y/N starting to leave.
"Hey, Y/N?"
What just came out of my mouth?
She turned to me. Realizing what I just did, I put my hand on the back of my neck.
"Yeah?"
I looked into her E/C eyes, which, for some reason, gave me some confidence.
"Would you want to do the lanterns together?"
She smiled
"Sure, why not?"

Uncle Monty's POV

I was getting ready to go down to the docks for the lantern festival, I just had to finish up putting the rest of the candy away in the shop. I had a big jar jellybeans that I was carrying inside when I tripped on a rock sticking out of the floor. I flew forward, the jar shattering on the ground.
"Uncle Monty!"
I turned my head towards the voice. It was Varian and a young lady in a pretty F/C dress. Then I noticed who it was. PRINCESS Y/N!! I would have bowed, but I had cut my leg in the shattered glasss. It was bleeding badly. They came running over to me, but once they got closer, Varian backed up. I knew why. He hated blood. Y/N pulled him over and instructed him to bring me into the shop. Once we got inside, she looked at my leg.
"That looks really bad, what happened?"
I explained the jar incident.
"We can help pick up the glass and jellybeans later. Right now, we need to fix up your leg. Do you have any ointment?"
I pointed towards the back room.
"I'll be right back"
She walked away and I turned to Varian, who was watching her walk away. I smiled and nudged him in the arm. He turned his head.
"Yeah Uncle Monty?"
I pointed to the door.
"How did you meet her?"
He explained how he and her had crashed into each other.
I grinned at him.
"You like her"
His cheeks flushed.
"N-NO I DON'T"
I laughed.
"Your secret is safe with me"
Y/N came back in with a small container. She turned to me.
"We're going to have to bandage your leg to stop the bleeding"
Varian looked confused.
"But we don't have any bandages"
"Leave that to me"
Y/N then started by putting the ointment on. After that, she ripped off the flowy part of her dress and tied it around my leg. I don't think she noticed, but Varian was as red as one of my fireball candies. Y/N looked up.
"Do you think you can walk right now?"
I nodded and tried to move, but a pain shot up my leg. I quickly shook my head. She smiled gently at me.
"It's ok, me and Varian can pick up the mess. You stay right here"
She stood up, took Varian by the hand, and walked outside.

~~~~~~TIME SKIP BECAUSE I CAN~~~~~~

After they finished picking up the glass and candy, they came inside. I thanked them by letting the pick whatever kind of sweet they wanted. At first they tried to refuse, but I insisted. I also gave them a bag to carry all of their things. They both picked ice cream and thanked me. Then they both helped me home. Before I closed the door, we saw all the townspeople come back from the docks. A frown formed on the two of their faces, but they tried to hide it. They waved goodbye and walked away. As they were walking away, I called out, but they didn't hear me.
"Bye Lovebirds!"
