Amy Hoffman:
Amy Hoffman's P.O.V:
I was here, in the cemetery, with my allies, Elizibeth Harbor, and Jude Shadow. Along with Kat McCarthy, the girl from four. I was afraid. I was a survivor. I had made it to the final 4. I could win. I have a chance.
The faces of the dead flashed through the sky. First was Nutmeg Dettlaff, the young fighter from district one. The next face was Hazel Smith, the fighter career tribute from district two. The third face in the sky was Daniel Stone, the lone wolf from district four. The final death was Adelaide White, the insane lone wolf from district seven.
That left us- the final four, in the cemetery. I was alive, Ebeth, was alive, Jude, was alive, and Kat. It's myself and my three allies against Kat. But it was the final four, and I wasn't sure if they were still my allies.
"We made it," Breathed Ebeth. "We did it! We're alive! We made it! All three of us!" She squealed, bouncing up and down on her toes. I laughed a little. Ebeth really deserved to go home, and so did Jude. But Kat- well, she just wanted money. But Kylie needed me.
Suddenly, the flowers in the cemetery shuddered, the flame petals flying off them. They were replaced with dead, black petals. Slowly, the flowers wilted away. Suddenly, an image of Draco Thorne appeared in the sky. No, not an image, it was Draco himself.
"Ah, you're the four tributes who survived oblivion." Draco chuckled slightly. I glanced around, worried, I knew he had something in store for us all. He glared down at us, as if our lives were nothing. Clearly, to him, they were nothing.
"I must say, I am impressed. But we're not done yet. You fellow comrades, loved ones, and enemies are all gathered here;even the dead ones. All of the tributes who entered these games are buried here. I hope you don't get to emotional here, you don't want to miss all the fun now, do you?" Draco laughed mischievously, and the crows began the crow. The thunder of wings drummed loudly as the crows swarmed, but my eyes widened when the began melting into each other.
"Death is lingering in this very cemetary, and he is ready to come and play." The crows began to form a figure, and I only realized it was too late. No face, just black clothes with a hood pulled over his head.
"And he is ready to claim his prize; you!" Draco let out an Erie laugh that chilled me to the bone, and the Reaper pulled a scythe out of nothingness. "You are my prey!"
With that, the Reaper launched towards us, aiming for the first unlucky person, me. I flung a throwing knife, expecting Death to razor in pain. But my weapon simply flew through the shadows, doing no damage. Death slashed his scythe toward me, but at the last second Ebeth jumped in front of me. Her howls of pain ripped through the air as Death's scythe slashed through her stomach.
"E-Beth!" I shrieked, wrapping my arms around her and pulling her away. Death was now targeting Kat, so I turned back to Ebeth. Blood poured out of her stomach, soaking her clothes. Her breathing began to grow shallow, and then I realized- She wasn't going to make it.
"Ebeth." I cried softly. She had sacrificed herself to protect me. Her death was my fault. Ebeth's cacciatore echoed throughout the arena, and I began to cry even harder. I closed Ebeth's eyes, and turned away. She sacrificed her self for me, now it was my turn to win. I began to sprint towards Kat, the wind biting my face. I ducked at Death swung his scythe at me, and heard a whooshing sound above my head as the scythe connected with thin air. Death swung again, this time aiming for Kat.
I wrapped my hands around Kat's arm and pulled her to the ground. Kat stared at me like I was crazy, probably wondering why I saved her. I jumped up, darting away as Death swung again, this time hitting underhand. The scythe scooped Kat off the ground, flinging her away from the cemetary, throwing her high in the air. She landed with a cruch, and yelled in pain.
Jude just watched us, watching the fight. Death hadn't gone after him yet. "Finish off Kat!" I yelled. "I'll distract Death!" Jude nodded and began running towards Kat, who was sprawled out on the ground, clutching her leg so har I thought it would break, except it was already broken.
Kat's whip lay on the ground nearby, probably out of her grasp. Jude loaded a bolt into the crossbow, aiming for Kat's skull. Although she was in pain, just as Jude was about to fire the crossbow ending her life, she rolled to the side, wrapping met hand around her whip. She lashed at Jude, and I watched, horrified, as the whip wrapped around Jude's neck.
Kat tugged simply, and Jude's head came flying off his body. BOOM! "Jude!" I yelled, ignoring the fact he was already dead. I flung myself at Kat, prepared to end her life. I stabbed my dagger at her face, but he moved her head and my knife buried itself in the ground. Kat lashed out at me with her whip, and I felt a sting in my upper arm.
I yelled I pain, kicking Kat hard in her injured leg as I did so. Kat yelled in pain, but her pain was ended as my knife cut across her throat. I had just committed a murder. I stood up, realizing I was going home. I was going to Kylie.
Then the floor flew up and hit me in the face.
