Shoyo sighed in exhasperation. He had barely woken up from a deep sleep thanks to a child's loud cry. Long ago had he moved away from his childhood home, so there was no reason for Natsu to start crying. His eyes hadn't opened yet, he was recovering from his bursts of energy throughout the day. Honestly, how did he make it through high school with the spirit of a freshman?

But then came another cry, this time more sorrowful than before. Shoyo's eyes blinked themselves awake, slightly aching from being awake so long previously. His new lifestyle was certainly draining, and he wouldn't dream of anything else. He shifted in the bed, shuffling his movements to face his lover. 

As he faced the male, he chuckled at the messy bedhead mess. A bit of drool dripped down the side of his face as he snored gently. Over the years, he observed that Tobio was usually a very deep sleeper, so he couldn't get the other to calm the baby for him.

He slowly slid away from the embrace Tobio was holding him in and managed to get up without waking the other. He walked over to the crib that held their precious baby boy, Kaito. He smiled brightly and lifted him in his arms, rocking the child.

It may appear like Shoyo would be terrible with children, possibilities stretching from dropping them to not treating them properly, but to most others' surprise, he was one of the best. He seemed to have a natural paternal instinct and nonetheless had his sister to take care of too.

Kaito was their adopted son, and he looked so much like the both of them. His copper eyes were the size of the moon, while his hair was growing to be dark as night. He held the energy Shoyo had and had the attitude of his other father.

He was perfect, and Shoyo couldn't ask for any less.

Actually, Shoyo didn't even ask for the child. Tobio adopted the child when he was born on Shoyo's birthday. It was the most amazing present he could ask for. He was forever grateful towards his husband.

He rocked the baby and caressed his face, watching as Kaito's face contorted in recoil. He smiled lightly at this, and calmed him down.

Most parents got annoyed when their new child wakes them up in the middle of the night, but Shoyo and Tobio were not most parents. The fact that they were a gay couple that adopted a child without having him themselves made them that much the same but yet so different.

"Oh, I want you to have it all. All you can imagine, all no matter what your path is. If you believe it then anything can happen..." Hinata whispered, drawing the baby to sleep with the soft lullaby.

He heard the song lyrics before listening to the radio and wanted to try to sing them to Kaito. It seemed to have worked as he saw that his eyes were fluttering shut. The baby let out one last giggle when Shoyo pecked his nose and drifted off to sleep.

"Your voice is beautiful, Sunshine." Shoyo nearly shrieked hearing his lover's voice as Tobio wrapped his arms around his waist and leaned on him. "Go back to bed with me, please."

"Yeah sure. Thank you, my King. Let's get back to bed then," he mumbled, flustered. He turned to reach for Tobio's hair and ran his fingers through it, reaching his cheek to caress it, the other nuzzling his face into it.

They both leaned in for a kiss, but as their lips were about to touch, Kaito burst out wailing again. They sighed peacefully, and shared the same idea.

Tobio lifted the child from the crib and carried him carefully to the bed, the ginger following behind him. The shorter male lied down on the bed, taking the baby from Tobio's cautious hands and allowed the ravenette to lie down as well. As soon as they got comfortable, they moved the baby to the middle of them.

Now, you may be alarmed that our little sun boy and our majesty might toss and turn in their sleep and hurt the poor child, but they strangely snapped out of the phase as soon as they got the baby.

The pair enjoyed a few minutes of silence and closed their eyes within seconds. The two's fingers intertwined with instinct, and they soon fell asleep.

A small family, yes, but extremely happy nonetheless.

a/n: ah, the first actual oneshot finally published. as you can see, it's kagehina, one of the most iconic ships in the wonderful anime of haikyuu.

so this oneshot is, by the title, in the spirit of pride month. celebrating thousands of lgbt members is simply amazing, and I want to take part in that.
