a/n: the song actually has nothing to do with the oneshot, it just brings the sense of celebrating the Fourth of July

"Kuroo, do we have to go?." Kenma was leaning against his best friend, who decided to take a trip to America with him tagging along.

Tetsuro's mother was driving the car to a park where they would showcase fireworks.

Wow, what luck to go to America during the season of loud noises and fireworks, Fourth of July.

"It's okay Kenma, you can stay inside the building." Kuroo insisted. His mother would do that anyways, so he thought Kenma would be alright with that. He looked at Kenma worriedly, rubbing his hand in comfort.

He wanted to protect him at all costs. Tetsuro would never force his love to do anything he didn't feel comfortable with.

"No... It's okay..." Kenma mumbled, blushing.

The car stopped, and Atori motioned for them to get out, as they arrived. Tetsuro opened the door and helped Kenma outside.

The park wasn't nearly as packed as most other's, which was great considering Kenma's social anxiety. (a/n: me too tbh)

There were children running around with their light up accessories and toys, waving them around and squealing. Kuroo pulled his friend closer to avoid any confrontation.

Music was playing in the background, a nice tune was playing as a band sang together in harmony.

Tetsuro and Kenma took items from the trunk of the car, as the sky was now completely pitch black. The stars showed, but soon another light show would take place, challenging the stars with their spectacular appearance.

The trio shortly became a duo as Atori took her leave, as she wanted to go inside instead.

Kenma kept close to Kuroo's side as they made their way to settle down. The pair chose a spot and put everything down, laying out the blanket and snacks out.

They both sat down, Kenma immediately keeping by his friend's side.

Minutes passed and they already cuddled up, because of the cold. Yeah. Definitely. Kenma was attached to his arm, and snuggled in closer. Kuroo protectively wrapped his arm around Kenma.

They began to announce the start of the fireworks, and soon after that the booming light show was close to beginning.

Kuroo figured this was time to confess his undeniable love for his best friend, so he turned his body to face Kenma.

Kenma intently observed the sky for the fantastic lights. Kuroo looked at his gorgeous golden eyes.

The first boom sounded, and a jet of light pierced through the air, sparking into a colorful eruption. Kuro took this chance to grasp Kenma's face softly in his hand.

The smaller boy's cat eyes widened as he looked at Kuroo and glanced at his hand. His lips were agape, which to Tetsuro looked perfectly kissable.

He leaned in closer, and moved hair away behind his ear. His fingers caressed the soft pale skin of his love's face. Kenma's face was scarlet, both from the fireworks in the background (which he could barely hear, his breath hitched and his heartbeat sped up) and the apparent blush on his face.

Kenma seemed tense, so Kuroo paused for a second. Their breathing was uneven, and they could feel their hot breath on each other's lips.

"Tetsuro..." Kenma whispered, eyes half-lidded. He made the final move as their lips finally touched, molding together perfectly.

They kissed beneath the slowing fireworks, smiling at each other dearly.
