Keiji and his brother, Tetsuro, had arrived at the Winter Ball that many people were invited to, including their family. But their parents were not able to make it, so they had to represent their family. Keiji sighed as he sat down aimlessly and Tetsuro at their family's table.

Keiji rapidly analyzed the people walking by. None appeared too interesting, until one person caught his jade green gaze.

The male had streaks of both silver and black in his hair, which was let down. He tried not to stare, after all, that would be rude. His heart beat faster than what was usual, and he felt that.

He wanted to catch his eye, no matter how out of character that was for Keiji. He ran his hands through his hair, which Tetsuro took notice of. He smirked and chuckled to himself, seeing his brother's hopeful expression.

There were people dancing to the elegant music left on on the ballroom dance floor, and Keiji wanted to be on there with him.

Who was he? Only Bokuto Koutarou, the male which every woman had her sights on.

He leaned onto his brother's shoulder, and whispered, "Tetsuro, this one's mine."

That was Tetsuro's final straw as he stood up from his seat and made Keiji's eyes grow wide. Tetsuro made his way across the room to Koutarou, greeting him like an old friend. Keiji got nervous, thinking, 'What's he gonna do?'

He grabs him by the arm after what seemed to be a small argument, and towards Keiji. The ravenette shook his head violently, trying to shoo him away, knowing he was through.

Then Koutarou looked back at him, and suddenly he was completely helpless. Absolutely, positively, helpless against the gorgeous golden eyes that shone so deeply. He looked at those eyes, and the sky was the limit. He knew he was down for the count and began drowning in the bright gold orbs.

They arrived near him sooner than he expected and hoped for, and he automatically stood up and walked towards them, not wanting to be rude.

"Akaashi Keiji, i's a pleasure to meet you." He nearly murmured, but managed the words out.

"Akaashi?" His voice, oh so handsome. Almost as handsome as his actual looks.

"My brother, Owl Bastard," retorted Tetsuro, who playfully jabbed him in the stomach, appearing to be gesturing him to do something.

"Thank you for meeting me here, Bokuto-san," whispered Keiji, smiling nervously.

"If it takes just walking across a room for us to meet, it will have been worth it," he teased, making Keiji blush a bit. Koutarou stepped out and took Akaashi's delicate hand into his.

"I'll leave you to it, I have someone to check on right now." With those words, Tetsuro slipped away to speak to a blonde male, who seemed unfazed.

They spent the night dancing, talking, laughing, and soon exchanging addresses to send letters to each other. They were reluctant to leave each other, especially Koutarou, who was extremely attached to his new...

Well, they couldn't address each other as lovers just yet, or could they?

Keiji began writing letters to his beloved nightly, whether it be telling him about his day or just telling him about how much he dearly cares about him.

His family noticed how much he had changed since then, he was more happier and lively. When he would get a letter from his now pronounced lover, he would become so ecstatic, Tetsuro was so glad that his brother was almost as happy as he was with his new lover, Kenma Kozume.

Two weeks later, Keiji watched with his brother and Kenma from the stairs as Koutarou was in the in the living room stressing. He wanted to marry Keiji, he truly did, but in order for that to happen, he needed Hentaro Akaashi's blessing.

Their father was stone-faced while he was almost on his knees begging for the blessing. Keiji was nearly dying inside, as they dined together as they spoke together. Tetsuro and Kenma were assuring him that it was fine, but it didn't help much. Keiji was trying not to cry because he believed there was nothing that Koutarou's brilliant mind couldn't do.

His father makes his way across the room to him. Keiji panicked and gasped, thinking, 'We're through.' But then he shakes Koutarou's hand and says, "Be true."

Koutarou turned back to Keiji smiling, and he became helpless with those endearing eyes. They embraced each other as Keiji dashed up to him. He fell into his lover's arms, and he laughed sliently.

Everyone left the room, leaving them alone. They still lied on the floor, much too excited to move. The couple laughed together, pressing their foreheads together, their noses touching.

"Keiji, I don't have anything else I can give you other than my love. No stress, my love for you is never in doubt. We'll get a little place in together and we'll figure it out." He paused, taking Keiji's delicate hands in his own. "I've been living without a family since I was a child. My parents left, I grew up buckwild. But I'll never forget when I first spotted your beautiful face, that was real. And long as I'm alive, Keiji, swear to God that you'll never--"

His words were interrupted by a sudden kiss to the lips, and he didn't resist the temptation as he wrapped his arms around his waist. Koutarou's lips pressed against Keiji's softly, and they passionately kissed for a few minutes before they finally pulled away.

"Try not to make out in front of me next time, would you?" Kenma looked away, embarrassment flooding his features.

"Sorry, Kenma, we didn't mean harm." Koutarou replied casually, but Keiji blushed.

Three months seems like a very long time, but to Keiji, they came rapidly. He was walking down the aisle with his father, and towards Koutarou.

Always that same feeling whenever they locked eyes. Hopeful.

And as the vows finished, their lips locked, giving Keiji Bokuto the same feeling that he felt when they first met.

Helpless.
